Super Arj Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 Gregory tipped for City return by Tim Murray Former Leicester City first-team coach John Gregory is being strongly backed to return as the club's next manager. And Blackpool boss Simon Grayson's price has also been trimmed after the Seasiders revealed they would not stand in the way of him leaving the club. Gregory, who has managed Aston Villa, Wycombe, Derby and Queen's Park Rangers since his spell at City under Brian Little in the '90s, was 16-1 with Leicester bookmakers Mark Jarvis when betting opened this week. But he has been backed into 3-1 third-favourite behind Billy Davies and Grayson. It is a similar story with Victor Chandler, who have trimmed the former England midfielder's odds from 20-1 to 4-1. Jarvis spokesman Scott Upton said: "We have some heavy liabilities over Gregory. About 75 per cent of the business in the last 24 hours has been for him.'' ( thebluearmy) please dont come gregory (ps sorry if this has already been posted)
dandannieldanok Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 He was always going to be in the frame, as I said the other day he has applied for the job on a number of occasions over the last few years and it appears from this he has already been sighted by MM.

MikeyT Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 I think we could do alot worse to be honest...even though he does seem a bit of a nasty bastard at times!
Mark Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 Well I didn't think Mandaric could actually find and interview a manager with a worse record than Holloway but it seems like he's gone and done it. There's a reason he's failed to get a job in years.
Stevosevic Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 Well I didn't think Mandaric could actually find and interview a manager with a worse record than Holloway but it seems like he's gone and done it.There's a reason he's failed to get a job in years. He was at QPR at the beginning of the season...leading them to relegation
Jay Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 This is turning into some sort of real nightmare….. I mean John Gregory…… done nothing ever as a manager not a thing except put clubs on the verge of sinking This will be a shocking decision giving the job to a manager who has failed in every job he has taken. hardly likely to encourage a late surge in Season Ticket sales!!
Finchy Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 PLEASE MILAN NO, NO NO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NO NO NO JUST NO!!!! Don't you ****ing dare!
MikeyT Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 After realising from other various posters how bad this would be, i retract my previous statement above!!! Noooooooooo to Gregory!!!!
teblin Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 It can't be him! It will be davies on monday or tuesday next week!
stevec Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 I would be so upset if this happened. I can't see how he could even be considered - he has none of the attributes that say promotion from 1st div at first try. Made up bookies story to get money on a no hoper if you ask me.
Fox You Forest Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 I think we could do alot worse to be honest...even though he does seem a bit of a nasty bastard at times! No we couldnt .
Bellend Sebastian Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 There are relatively few appointments that I would say were a genuinely bad idea but this would be one of them
CupidStunt Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 Jarvis spokesman Scott Upton said: "We have some heavy liabilities over Gregory. About 75 per cent of the business in the last 24 hours has been for him.'' load of bollox.....who in there right mind would bet there money on that plonker Just another bookie ploy imo
Bellend Sebastian Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 In his defence, he can play the guitar and sing reasonably well. A lovely musical number at the post match press conference following a disappointing result could boost everyone's spirits and do wonders for morale. This is probably what Milan is thinking
Cheese Me Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 Portsmouth January 17, 1989 January 3, 1990 50 10 15 25 20.00 Plymouth Argyle February 6, 1990 July 31, 1990 19 6 6 7 31.57 Wycombe Wanderers October 22, 1996 February 25, 1998 76 25 23 28 32.89 Aston Villa February 25, 1998 January 24, 2002 190 82 52 56 43.15 Derby County January 30, 2002 March 21, 2003 55 16 9 30 29.09 Queens Park Rangers September 20, 2006 October 1, 2007 48 13 12 23 27.08 I don't really want him either but if that stat's right it's a pretty impressive win % in the premiership! Nothing to inspire confidence for six years though
Father Ted Posted 30 May 2008 Posted 30 May 2008 We can do way better than him!! Please no, if he was to be appointed manager it will just sum up the laughing stock that has been Leicester City over recent years.
