MON Posted 2 April 2005 Posted 2 April 2005 I know we look back and say what a great time. And I agree. But were there anythings that got up your nerve when MON was in charge. I'm not old enough to realise. Were their any dodgy team selections? A certain player selected all the time ( Adams and Scowy). The wrong sort of players signed, or youngster released etc.

The board not spending enough money. Heskey not scoring. Zagorakis should have played more often. Not exactly major gripes, they all pale in comparison with the problems the current mob have.

Steven Posted 2 April 2005 Posted 2 April 2005 letting spencer prior go annoyed me 86477 It is alledged that this had something to do with Steve Walsh and Spencer Prior's wife.
Mark Posted 2 April 2005 Posted 2 April 2005 A lack decent strikers when one got injured. We ended up playing Marshall, Dudfield, Fenton or Wilson sometimes Terrible backups that were always going to hold us back when the injuries kicked in later in the season.
Knighton Matt Posted 2 April 2005 Posted 2 April 2005 i always hated it when we brought every single player back to defend corners which MON seemed to implement. it drives me mad if you clear the ball its blatently gonna end up back in your box unless you've got someone up front to retain the ball or at least put some pressure on the opposition! argh!

Sparky Posted 2 April 2005 Posted 2 April 2005 levein tactics in the last few games is to push tiatto and gillespie up to half way when defending corners , hope he sticks withi t

I duno - I cant remember exactly
Simon Posted 2 April 2005 Posted 2 April 2005 i think its both actually 86545 Ooops Things that annoyed me about the O'Neill era- not much really- him leaving probably although you can hardly blame him. Not managing to keep Kaamark maybe, and yeah not playing Zagorakis as much as he should but apart from that they were great years... Oh an maybe Robert Ullathorne...
TrickyTrev Posted 2 April 2005 Posted 2 April 2005 Not being able to find decent back up strikers. There was a portion of one season where we had Muzzy Izzet and Matt Elliott as our front two!
step Posted 3 April 2005 Posted 3 April 2005 What anouyes me about the MON eara, Is that after he left the board gave twato taylor 23 million to spend. What would we have achieved if MON had that money to spend.
