Im not saying drop anyone, we need to get him on the pitch though, last week Pearson put Dickov on the wing when he had Levi on the bench, he needs to get a little match time under his belt so we can see how he is, and if we can start him.

Yeah I see what you're getting at, and I think Pearson would be more happy to bring him on if we have a comfortable lead at home, but last week he wanted Dickov's experience.

Uncle Albert Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 I'm sure Levi will get his chance this season but if the wingers keep playing well and having a contributing game then it could be some time before he get's a start. Saying that someone will get injured soon no doubt. Sure he will get a run out against Hartlepool and maybe Fulham next week.

Asha Posted 21 August 2008 Posted 21 August 2008 You can say it was maybe a wrong decision to put Dickov on the right, but in a way it worked....we improved as an attackive force but just couldn't score.

I agree that he wants game time but as a team I think we need something that was desperately lacking last season, consistency. I'd like to think he'll be on the bench this weekend Also, I kinda like that there seems to be some genuine competition for places in the starting lineup, keeps people on their toes

I know what you're saying but personally, putting Levi on when we desperately need to score 'to see how he is' probably isn't the right option....which is where the JPT will come in handy this year...to give such players a run out.

He was inexplicably played out of position and, apart from the odd moment, looked lost and ineffective. And if I'd been Porter I'd have been pissed off big time.
