James. Posted 29 August 2008 Posted 29 August 2008 It's taking the piss a bit out of the actual fans though. If a similar thing happened to Leicester, and there were thousands of people voting on players and lineups etc (many of who never went to a game) then I'd be a bit pissed off. I'm pretty sure Ebbsfleet have some fans tucked away somewhere and this has made their club a bit of a joke. That's my view on it anyway. Is it really that much different to having a few faceless corporate executives making the decisions though? Voting with 30,000 people may be a lot more democratic and less risky than having power concentrated in just a few hands..?
Ultra Posted 29 August 2008 Posted 29 August 2008 Nah, he's a good bloke who wants to keep the player in question. He goes to a lot of matches as well. So at least he's seen the player in action - which is more than 95% of those voting (who aren't even Ebbsfleet fans) will have done. This is nothing more than a media stunt.

Take Mattock for example. Many are saying he should stay and develop at us, while quite a few others are saying cash in now for a good price. It would be a farce if we all voted one way or the other, and would undermine the manager and he'd question what his role was within the club. This could have a detrimental effect on Ebbsfleet.

Well yeah seeing as literally anybody could buy a share. Therefore any old clueless idiot could vote on the future of the club.... Doesn't work at all for me. It's all a bit of a farce.

You could argue it's better than that, but it's worst than the situation that Ebbsfleet were in (a normal football club).

Doesn't work at all for me. It's all a bit of a farce. Anyone over the age of 18 can vote to decide who runs the country... nevermind some obscure non-league football club. You could argue it's better than that, but it's worst than the situation that Ebbsfleet were in (a normal football club). Fair point. I just think it's not as bad as people are making out. And the club may achieve relative success on the back of the investment that's been made.

So you'd let people that have no connection to LCFC make decisions just because they have a share, and have given us money which can give us "relative success"?
Joe. Posted 29 August 2008 Posted 29 August 2008 Bid Accepted By Fans Just for anybody who's interested like...
Corky Posted 29 August 2008 Posted 29 August 2008 Bid Accepted By FansJust for anybody who's interested like... It will be interesting the views of Ebbsfleet supporters who don't have stakes in the club.
James. Are you saying that would be any worse than some of the decisions Milan Mandaric has made? I really don't see why this makes you and others so angry. You're being a bit melodramatic about it to be honest.
