If I have understood you right I just think you need like a thing you stick in the back of your xbox which will recieve your signal from your wireless downstairs. That's how I've got mine working.

Have a butchers on ebay or summut you might be able to pick yourself one up for cheaper than that.

And another thing, this is what you want for Live - 4.99 a month equates to 60 quid a year, or even if you have it for say 5 months, its the same price as the link. They send u the code straight away aswel, i use these. Very good.
