Alexikokopops Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 Sainsburys are doing an instore deal of £99 for the arcade and £120 for the one with the small hard drive Really? I saw they were selling the normal number for £150 but then loads of managers went in from Game and bought them all and sold them on.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 Ashley / Alexikokopops, if you get yourself down HMV they are selling XBox Elites (120GB, I've got one, it's black, it's sexy) with FIFA 09 and Fable 2 for about £220 (can't remember the exact price, sorry). That's a cracking deal though.

That's a cracking deal though. Is that so? Hmmm... Are there any cracking deals like that with just the normal one? Preferably with FIFA 09. I'm not a huge gamer so don't really need the elite version, although that is a cracking deal. I know Gamestation are pretty good pricewise.
Ashley Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 What you seen? I'm gonna buy one soon. I've seen Xbox30, 60gb hdd, 2 games for 168/168.99 on gamestations website, however it says selected games so its probably games they select instead of yourself(not sure tho)
Joe. Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 I'm tempted to finally jump on the Gears of War bandwagon. Is it like Halo? Anybody got a cheap copy they want rid of? EDIT: £16 on Cex. Tempted.

The games they have as "selected games" on the website are Dead Or Alive 4, Lost Oddyssey and Too Human (none of which appeal to me). However I thought when I was in store that FIFA 09 was one of the selected games (there's definitely more than just three) so I'm gonna check it out when I get the chance.
dandannieldanok Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 For those looking for cheap X-Boxs - Was sent this link a few weeks back, not sure how reliable it is but apparently all you have do it is complete an offer and you get it sent free. It may be a scam I don't know.

Probably the next best (cracking) deal I could was a Gamestation one actually. 60 GB Xbox - FIFA 09 - Additional Wireless Controller Not too bad.

Joe. Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 Get jumping, I say. It's much better than Halo. Much better. I ****ing love Halo. I'm looking at one on Ebay at the moment which ends soon-ish.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 I ****ing love Halo. I'm looking at one on Ebay at the moment which ends soon-ish. I could just never get into Halo, but I love Gears. You can't lose for that price as well. That my friend is perfect. Two controllers and FIFA, job done Nenhum problema.
Alexikokopops Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 Nenhum problema. Unfortunately I've just remembered I'm moving to a new place in three weeks, which wants one months rent in advance, plus six weeks rent as a deposit, plus £100 in agency fees. I think I'll wait until next payday to buy an Xbox360...
Joe. Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 I could just never get into Halo, but I love Gears. You can't lose for that price as well. Mr Geordie I am now laughing. Gears of War for Xbox 360 picked up for £11 off Play and Trade. Oh yes
Jack Posted 24 October 2008 Posted 24 October 2008 Mr Geordie I am now laughing. Gears of War for Xbox 360 picked up for £11 off Play and Trade. Oh yes Wise Choice. Halo was fooking brilliant. But Gears is just as good if not better.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 Right, I am in no way technical, and no absolutely zilch about this. I have found a month's free trial in my GTA IV box, a card with a scratchcard type reveal thing on the back, which will apparently reveal some kind of subscription code. If I was to get Live, how would I set it up / what would I need to buy / how is the month's trial activated? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well if your Xbox is quite close to your modem then all it needs is an ethernet cable. There's a thing that says redeem code on the Dashboard, just type it in there and you should be good to go.

lildave3 Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 The X Box is upstairs. Will I need to have a cable running through my house? No, in that case I think you need an adaptor, or do what someone off here did and linked it to the computer somehow.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 No, in that case I think you need an adaptor, or do what someone off here did and linked it to the computer somehow. How much would an adaptor set me back?
lildave3 Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 How much would an adaptor set me back? A fair bit, I hear.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 A fair bit, I hear. ****s sake.
Nugent Posted 25 October 2008 Posted 25 October 2008 How much would an adaptor set me back? I doubt you would be able to find 1 for less than £45.
