James. Posted 17 September 2008 Posted 17 September 2008 I just wanted to draw attention to a seemingly overlooked fantastic performance by the Great Britain team in the Paralympics. I'll be the first to admit that I have watched very little of this but I still wanted to show some appreciation for the determination, commitment and spirit of these athletes. I would imagine some of their stories would make a lot of us shed a tear. Phenomenal effort. The medal table.
Asha Posted 17 September 2008 Posted 17 September 2008 I'll be the second to admit I haven't really watched this. But well played athletes. To beat USA must have taken something special.
fox123 Posted 17 September 2008 Posted 17 September 2008 I watched a bit of the cycling and swimming but nothing else, just goes to show how far team GB has come in the last 4 years in both Olympics and Paralympics, hope they can push that on going into 2012
purpleronnie Posted 17 September 2008 Posted 17 September 2008 Top work of course unfortunately a lot of countries dont have any facilities for disabled atheletes the UK have very good ones, but to beat the USA thats a great effort.
Tilley Posted 17 September 2008 Posted 17 September 2008 I haven't watched any, yet I was addicted to the Olympics. Well done to everyone who took part, & it was a great result for the Great Britain team.
Thracian Posted 17 September 2008 Posted 17 September 2008 Awesome achievement. And it perhaps reflects how hard people work in this country to ensure that handicapped people have the chance to make the best of their abilities. Swimmer Eleanor Simmonds literally brought tears to my eyes, she was so thrilled by what she'd done.
