Contrast

Just wanted to make a quick contrast on the 2 halves today, the 1st was possibly the worst I've ever endured at a football match, I was even about to watch it in the concourse just as the whistle went, endless cries of sit down from a massive gathering of stewards all intent on ruining every away fans day, this combined with silence from 3,000 in our end and a very poor performance on the pitch left me thinking if the stewards want to kick me out for standing I really won't miss much.

But Then 2nd period, started with a few calls, right hand side everyone, and I pretty much mean everyone, great banter all half, the stewards were still at it, but for the most part to no avail. Great 1st goal celebrations and the 3rd well, I actually think I'm still celebrating it now, pile on's huge huddles, feet crushing in seats, it really was unbelivable.

I just found it strange how the worst aways ever turned into possibly one of the best.

that song which they did where both sides sung to each other looked mint
there were a few new songs today. but it helps if the rest of the stadium don't just sit there!!!!!!! that was brilliant that was where they sung to each other. but i didn't catch the words though.

I must admit, I've always sat on the fence with regards to standing (no pun intended). But today I stood, only for a miserable old fart behind telling me to sit down.

I can now fully sympathize with the problems you guys have wanting to stand up and enjoy a football match, be it contending with stewards or even our own fans.

That first half was truly woeful and the difference in the second half was just plain silly. fook knows what happened to the game but as soon as Fryatt tucked the first away it all went a bit doo lally.

Yes thats right, people still say the words do lally.

Incredible game.

I want to know what Ramps up to though. Daft bastard could barely stand after his cider!

Probably have to give praise for Pearson's motivational words at Half Time, we haven't had anyone like that since MON - Credit where it's due!

There's been a few games where we've looked an entirely different team in the second half compared to the first

We seem to improve a hell of a lot when we're attacking the away end.

Stockport - poor first half, created loads of chances second half in front of our fans and should have won by a couple of goals.

Cheltenham - scrappy first half, cruised the second in front of our fans.

Fulham - two goals at the start of the second half as soon as we were attacking the away end.

Colchester - played well first half but improved second half attacking the away end.

Hartlepool - infinitely better second half in front of our own fans.

Huddersfield - same again.

The one game when we haven't attacked the away end second half - Leyton Orient they were in control for much of the second half I thought, although we still scored two at the end to win it.

Interesting too that we've only scored two goals in the first half of away games but we've scored 14 in the second half of games. I think you've got to attribute a lot of it to fitness. Players like Gilbert, Dyer and Gradel could run all day.
