davieG Posted 5 October 2008 Author Posted 5 October 2008 I hope no one misinterprets my intentions here because I am delighted about our progress and position but I think it's good to remind ourselves occasionally that things can go tits up for no apparent reason, for something as simply as losing one player through injury, for suffering two fortuitous losses on the bounce - hasn't there been a touch of good fortune about our recent wins that's not to say we didn't deserve to win but they could so easily have gone the other way. In a way I hope it makes the support even more determined to ensure it continues, even if I don't go to some matches I love hearing how much everyone is enjoying watching LCFC. For me being top is a bonus to the style and approach we've adopted, we're scoring goals, well Fryatt and Dyer are we got a terrific defence, yes even with Martin in goal that would be enough for me after all the shite I've paid to watch. I've never been happier since the last days of MON. Here's to keeping our feet firmly on the ground, our nerve and our position at the top of this league.

Erm, I think you'll find it was Swansea and Forest. Doncaster beat Leeds in the playoff final. Not that anyone can be blamed for blanking out memories of last season..
