Ozwin Posted 13 October 2008 Author Posted 13 October 2008 I just hope you're not all amazing, I mean we're alright, well the majority of us are but I don't want you all to come along and blow everyone out of the water, think everyone's shite, then leave.

Me and the centre back are the best of us lot. The other two are good but a tad selfish.
Ozwin Posted 13 October 2008 Author Posted 13 October 2008 Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. We have 13 people and that's before friends of friends have been asked. I'm a lot more hopeful now. You could be the savour of our team!

I'm sure there'd be some team that'd give "us" a game.
Ozwin Posted 13 October 2008 Author Posted 13 October 2008 No idea, when we've got the team up and sorted, with a manager and training days etc along with improved fitness and all that lark we'll have a look around. I don't know any teams so we'd have to check out the local 'talent' and give em a bell.

I'm guessing it'd be far too late late to join a new season now, but I'm sure alot of teams wouldn't mind the odd friendly.

Foxhateram Posted 14 October 2008 Posted 14 October 2008 We could do it through webcam, sure. Mate i run my own football team, started it from scratch. If you would like some advice at any time, or if you have any queries then just PM me.
Ozwin Posted 14 October 2008 Author Posted 14 October 2008 Any advice on simply getting it started would be great.
Foxhateram Posted 14 October 2008 Posted 14 October 2008 Any advice on simply getting it started would be great. Get training with the core amount of players you have. Either go somewhere thats free, or hire a footie pitch let the place know you will need it every week on a certain day they will do you a deal im sure. Get training going, on a regular basis, and a regular night. Advertise that you are looking for players and in the advert say your training night and explain you will be looking to enter a league next year. you should get around 18 players to sign on. second thing to do- Find a league that you could enter, and inform them you are interested in joinging next year, ask how much it is likely to cost etc. Third thing to do- Get some friendly games against teams in the league you are looking to enter. Enter some tournaments aswell. Fourth- Make sure you have plenty of socials to gel the lads together. Fifth- Collect money from players, (make sure you have enough to buy some decent equipment aswell as pay for league fee's, remember that league's often charge for things such as yellow/ red cards etc and you are also likely to have to pay for Ref's in games so make sure you agree with everyone an anual fee also a games fee.) (ref's usually cost around £25-£30, most leagues will charge £7 ish for a yellow card and £15 for a red) six- Make sure you are ready to ring/take phone calls, fill in endless forms, be let down by people, and have a whole lot of fun (when your not filling in forms) It is a major thing, and some would say its a full tiem job. Good luck matey. Any more questions then PM em at moi Paul
