Ozwin Posted 6 October 2008 Posted 6 October 2008 Me and a load of mates are planning on starting a team, now I know it's a lot of hard work and paperwork and all that lark but I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of getting one started? We have a manager lined up, a possible pitch (if allowed), kits shouldn't be a problem and goals and flags etc shouldn't be a problem as everyone would chip in their fair share. We just need to know how to get it started, who to contact and that sort of thing. Thanks in advance.

Bert Posted 6 October 2008 Posted 6 October 2008 You want to speak to Tevez, Tomassi or Manwell Pablo. Sparky is well clued up as well on Sunday league football.
Simi Posted 6 October 2008 Posted 6 October 2008 If you need a right back, give me a call and I'll put you in touch with Ched.
Samilktray Posted 6 October 2008 Posted 6 October 2008 If you need a natural goal scorer, give me a call.
Ozwin Posted 6 October 2008 Author Posted 6 October 2008 Haha, we'll see. If you can get to the Glen Parva area easily and are willing to put up with possibly a slow starting group of lads who havn't played 11-a-side football for a couple of years then feel free.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 6 October 2008 Posted 6 October 2008 <_< . That is also true, yes. Haha, we'll see. If you can get to the Glen Parva area easily and are willing to put up with possibly a slow starting group of lads who havn't played 11-a-side football for a couple of years then feel free. I just want to get back into 11 a side football after a load of 5 a side. I'll seriuosly get involved if you want me.
Tevez Posted 6 October 2008 Posted 6 October 2008 Always willing to help Ozwin mate. Always have Willpower.
Ozwin Posted 6 October 2008 Author Posted 6 October 2008 Awesome you're online. Who do we contact to get the ball rolling?
JakeShingler Posted 6 October 2008 Posted 6 October 2008 Awesome you're online. Who do we contact to get the ball rolling? Wouldnt you have to wait untill next season now?
Ozwin Posted 6 October 2008 Author Posted 6 October 2008 Yeah I think so but I'm sure it'll take a couple of months to sort the paperwork out and stuff. Better early than late plus it gives us time to get fitness up and to buy all the equipment and stuff. We're really keen to get it started. And Tevez that'd be awesome, cheers.

Ozwin Posted 6 October 2008 Author Posted 6 October 2008 Yeah a mens team, well technically anyway , we're all 17/18/19 year olds. We're in the Glen parva area, near Blaby/Whestone if you know where that is. Quite far out from the city centre tbh.

Well theres the park on the left just as you go into Blaby from Leicester road, or there's the pitches on Sturdee Road which isn't that far?

Im playing for an Under 17s team this season and it is our last season so is it worth me coming for a training sesion?
Ozwin Posted 6 October 2008 Author Posted 6 October 2008 If it gets sorted and everything then yeah why not, the more the merrier. As for location we havn't fully decided, we have a park which is quite ideal to a few of us, it's Dorothy Park if I can remember the name, nice park, lots of space, quiet. Then there's Somerfield Park which we're not so sure about as we doubt we'd have an easy job getting the pitch there. I don't think many people would fancy playing there either as it's a bit of a mucky place to play at. There's also Blaby park, the big one on the roundabut which we're pretty sure would be a good place for everyone involved to travel to. And finally there's a park on a road called 'Hospital Lane' which a couple of us have played on before and seems like a nice place to play. We're gonna have a vote and see what happens, I'll keep you posted though.

Maybes Posted 6 October 2008 Posted 6 October 2008 Location is probably a bit difficult. Yup we had a right job finding a pitch.
Tevez Posted 6 October 2008 Posted 6 October 2008 Council should help you, especially as it's Leicester area.
