davieG Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 How about the Aussie who was blowing a bubble gum while driving when it burst and stuck to his glasses. Blinded, he drove off the road and plunged down a hill to his death A woman in France died of shock after hearing a voice come from her husband's coffin shouting "let me out" - the voice belonged to a fellow mourner and ventriloquist. The 16 year old who died from 'excessive use of deodorant'. He used to spray his entire body twice a day and had 10 times the lethal dosage of methane and butane in his blood. A prisoner in the USA had his sentence of death by electric chair reduce to life imprisonment died when he electrocuted himself when he bit through a wire while trying to mend the TV in his cell. A guy was killed by his own bodily gasses. A post-mortem showed he'd died in his sleep from breathing in the poisonous cloud hanging over his bed, produced by his beans and cabbage diet. Even the three men who tried to rescue him had to be treated.

Even the three men who tried to rescue him had to be treated. You learn something every day! I didn't know the effects of farting could kill! Mind you it did remind me of a fifth form school trip to the South of France. We were staying in one domitory of a boarding school in Grasse and a lad at the far end insisted on demonstrating the effects of setting fire to a fart with a cigarette lighter. He could conjure up wind to order and was not known as Pong Fletcher for nothing. Anyway he didn't disappoint with the power of his blow-out - the flame was enormous and made more dramatic cos it set fire to his balls. It was 44 years ago but would have been a spectacular best-seller on YouTube! Truly, people do the most extraordinaary things. While I was coaching squash in Amsterdam a pupil who was a surgeon apologised for being late. He'd just returned from spending hours rebuiilding the insides of a guy's backside, repairs that would nevertheless leave him embarrassingly handicapped for life. Apparently the guy had shoved a glass bottle up his arse - why the hell would anyone do that? - and the bottle was so tight that pressure from his anal muscles shattered the glass with horrendous consequences. I'm never sure if humans are just irresistably curious or kinky as hell. But he sure paid the price for that experiment.
dandannieldanok Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 They're all hilarious, especially the last one

davieG Posted 16 October 2008 Author Posted 16 October 2008 Sorry to be a party pooper but that last one's an urban myth I suspect that they are all likely to be.
Alexikokopops Posted 16 October 2008 Posted 16 October 2008 I suspect that they are all likely to be. The deoderant one isn't. It was in the first Darwin Awards book (along with the urban myth one).
