Simi Posted 3 November 2008 Posted 3 November 2008 Hamilton 1st , Adlington 2nd , Hoy 3rd That's what I reckon, think Hamilton is a cert.
Finnegan Posted 3 November 2008 Author Posted 3 November 2008 Lewis Hamilton should win it, Tubes will be rakeing it in if he does win it. Chris Hoy is a great shout and 'Super Joe' if he wins next weekend. Joe won last year, won't do it twice consecutively. They should change the title of the award cos let's face it, recent winners have been lacking the very attribute the award is allegedly for. Of the last 5 winners, only Flintoff would fit the bill of Sports Personality of the YearLewis Hamilton, for all his sporting achievements, has all the personality of a Yakult drink. Unfair on Calzaghe, imo. I'm a big F1 fan but Rebecca Adlington deserves to win it Irrelevant. Popularity contest, half the country won't know who Adlington is.
FleckneyFox Posted 3 November 2008 Posted 3 November 2008 Why would Adlington win? She got less golds than Hoy who is an absolubte beast if you watch him. But Hamilton is a dead cert, Maybe with Murray pushing for a Top 3.

Have you any idea how rare it is that a Brit wins a gold in the swimming pool, let alone two? Cycling we're always good at, swimming is uncommon. Hamilton, Addlington and Hoy or Murray I think will be the order.
