Cruellist/ most unusual punishment received at school

This thread has brought back some horrid memories of my school days (60's) I too went to religious schools. Nuns shouldn't teach children in my opinion. At junior school I was often given the cane, ruler or slap for the most minute offences. I remember bending down to my bag to get out a new pen I had that day for my birthday and had the ruler across my hands 'for not paying attention'. At senior school I became more and more rebelious and seemed to spend most of my time in the heads office, knelt on the floor so she could measure how far above the knee my skirt was (max 2") then the rest of the morning in the sewing room taking the hem back down. Prefects to could give you detention if they saw you out of school without the bloody awful hats we had to wear on, as soon as I was off the premises mine was shoved in my bag. I was in contact trouble for wearing make-up (remember this was the 60's and I was a teenager) I hated school and couldn't wait to leave. Sadistic, bitter women they were. On reflection my education was shortened because I just couldn't stand the regime at school. Kids these days don't know they are born!!!! Pah

I wasn't alone in my dislike of gym.One day three of my classmates turned up for P.E. saying that they were unable to do gym because they had forgotten their kit. The boys concerned were all boarders and so their kit was in their dormitory, no more than 5 minutes walk from the sports hall. The teacher could have said " Go and get your kit and be back here changed in 10 minutes and you're getting a detention for forgetting it" ...... but he didn't.

He decided that as a punishment and to deter others from forgetting their kit that these boys would do gym in the nude; They stripped to their underpants - "NUDE I said"- even underwear was not allowed.

At least they didn't volunteer!! In my middle year of infant school, we had a boy in our class who had been put into care. To say he was a pervert, even at the age of 5-6 was an understatement! He used to offer the girls 5p to pull down their pants and have let him have a look, and 10p if they let him pull his pants down and they looked!!

I can remember our teacher threatening a girl with PE in the nuddy for forgetting to put on her underwear (we had the embarrassing indignity and humiliation of having to do it in our vest and pants in those days ), but this particular boy overheard, and went over and told the teacher that he had forgotten to put his pants on as well. I think most of us feared the worst, and we could tell our teacher did too, and before she had properly retracted the threat, this boy had his kit off, and was sprinting into the hall! It took them about 15 minutes to coerce down from the top of the climbing frame, where he was waving his willy around in a manner that really shocked us. Most of us girls had never taken him up on the offer on a paid viewing!! Of course, had we stayed in the classroom like we were told to, we wouldn't have had to have gone through the whole ordeal!!

the ultimate was the tech teacher who had one of those yard rulers for the blackboard..you know the ones... 1 yard long about 3 inches wide and about 1/2 inch thick

He would take his red chalk....and colour in a large round red circle at the end.

He would then have you bend over and with an almight swing, belt your bum as hard as possible with the red dotted end, this left you with not only the amazingly unpleasant pain of being belted...but you walked around all day with a large red spot on your trousers, so that everyone knew what had happened...and there was no removing the spot without a wash...so mum and dad also knew full well what had happened
