Sharia courts already exist in this country. There is one on the outskirts of Leicestershire. It's purpose was explained in a recent newspaper article - several years after I thought it would be established and two years after I first mentioned it on here to a certain amount of ridicule.

The court is not an isolated one. There are similar courts all over the country and in many ways, as things exists, there is much sense in them despite the obvious concerns they raise.

As for the UK being a Christian country it might have a Queen who is Head of the Church of England and it might be predominently Christian by faith but it has huge religious diversity, and why not?

It is one thing to fight for Christianity and for British, English or even local traditions and quite another to try to deny other people their own traditions and celebrations.
