Kilworthfox Posted 27 November 2008 Author Posted 27 November 2008 I love how Tommo has suddenly become 65. Merry Christmas Ben
Thracian Posted 27 November 2008 Posted 27 November 2008 There's a few names there I've not recalled in years. Bobby Svarc and Tom Sweenie for a start. I'm sure both played local football during my time as well as for City. Alan Woollett was a limpet who neutralised some of the best names of the day by never leaving their side from one end of a game to the other. Graham Cross played football for City and cricket for the county and Bobby Roberts was quite a big money signing in his day if memory serves. Peter Rodriques and Denis Rofe were as good as we ever had at full-back apart from Pontus Kaamark and Allan Clarke was a British record signing at about £165,000 when he came here if memory serves and Mike Stringfellow was the sort of bargain signing at £25,000 in the 60s that Luke Dyer has been for free this season.
Zingari Posted 27 November 2008 Posted 27 November 2008 i don't think john o rourke played for leicester city ipswich wasn't it ? stringfellow was a class act in his day , before his knees starting giving way bobby roberts was another great
Wycombe Fox Posted 27 November 2008 Posted 27 November 2008 David Nish. The first City shirt I had in 1970 had a number 4 sewn onto the back of it by my Mum. Gutted when he went to Derby. Memories.

BedsFox Posted 27 November 2008 Posted 27 November 2008 "Lenny, Lenny Glover, lenny Glover on the w-w-wing!!"" Happy childhood memories of watching him skin full bakcs and pinpoint a cross onto Worthington's head! and on the Birchenall one, he's playing for Palace, in what looks like Black pumps on his feet.
