Nick Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 Had a knock on the door about 9pm earlier. Opended it to find a chubby, little gypo looking girl standing there who then started singing "We Wish you a Merry Christmas".Thought nothing of it at the time and went back to the telly. 10:40 another knock on the door. Answered it to find two definate gypo lads standing there about the same age as me, about 17/18, asking if i'd seen a black and white cat... I said I hadn't to which they replied "oh, okay mate" and left. Now either this is my imagination going overboard or would I be right to sleep with a knife next to my bed tonight. Got a feeling that my house might be a target for a Xmas time robbery, we've got a Xmas Tree well lit in the living room which you can see from the front window, with the common mistake of putting the presents around the bottom of it. Just seems very, very odd to have people knocking the door this late for such stupid reasons. The only thing I can think of is that they have saw the presents around the tree, saw the tv and pc downstairs too and are trying to get an idea of what people/how many, live here. I've black bagged the pressies and stuck them in the attic, and have locked up all doors as I always have done anyway. Am I being a gay, or would you say this is probably a safe thing to do!!! Listen Bob, just give them their ****ing cat back. It's Christmas for crying out loud.
Alexikokopops Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 I am one of those "short sighted" home owners. When Blaby council put a camp in Countesthope(without asking the local residents) the for sale signs went shooting up in the village, and my house and others dropped 10% of value We pay £100 per month council tax they pay........bugger all no wonder there is resentment What do you suggest as an alternative? They're always going to be around.

Zingari Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 True but why do "travellers" want a permanant site??? a permanent travellers site is a bit of an oxymoron

As interesting as this discusion is why hasn't Bob come back and updated us??? Is it because A.) He caught the gypo's, stabbed them and is currently being detained at Her Majesties Pleasure B.) He slept with a knief under his pillow, but unfortunately placed it the wrong way under his pillow, and has had to have a long opperation to remove a pillow from his ear C.) Nothing happened D.) The Gypo's found their cat and the singing girl was in fact Michelle McManus trying to earn a bob or two!
Edmund Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 did you get to unwrap your pressies in the end?
