Just been reading a few Hearts websites as they regularly talk about Levein, De Vries, Maybury, etc.

Anyway there were a few threads on there about Levein and how they can't believe us fans are starting to question him. Some of them said he started off slow at Hearts and it took him a while to clear all the shit out and stamp his authority. They were talking about he'll turn us in to an organised team that's almost impossible to beat. Some fans were saying they are glad he's gone as they couldn't stand his negative football anymore and his long ball tactics. All things that we haven't seen at Leicester since he's been here? Many of them said they would welcome him back given the chance.

On to De Vries, it was again very complimentary. Saying how well he did for them and how they wish they had de Vries if he was playing aswell as he was in 02/03 and 03/04. They also said that if the City fans get on at him, he'll just get worse as he only plays well when he wants to. They said he was only ever up for it against Celtic, Rangers, Hibs, Aberdeen and the european teams. Other than those he would often not bother, unless he was in good form and the crowd were chanting his name and stuff. Something to think about?

The best of all was one fan referred to Kisnorbo as 'skippy on ice!!!' i'm still pissing myself now, Junior Lewis anyone?

Let's hope Levein turns things round, like he did at Hearts. He joined them in a similar fashion as he joined us in terms of the state of the club. You can't keep a good man down.

almost all manager make a slow start (o'neill anyone? and the squad he took over was quality compared to this one)

the trouble with leveins start was he said, almost immediately, he wanted rid of all the old timers (90% of the squad then?) and from then on i don't think they cared what happens because they know they're all to be cleared out.

come next season, with a good start, we'll do well with levein and you can quote me on that chandler.

No one can deny that it has been disappointing since Levein's arrival. However, I imagine he's working with a bunch of players who he doesn't see as retaining for the future. Realistically, we can probably only see the likes of Walker, Maybury, McCarthy, Hughes and maybe Connolly being regulars next season, which is virtually half the team.

Pre-season will carry huge significance in terms of moulding the team and developing a style of play that best suits the players Levein wants to draft in. Levein wants to build something here, so that needs time and patience. The club needs to build from the bottom and get the structure right, as that was a shambles under Adams/Bassett.

I'm confident Levein will get things sorted for next season. We've had 20 draws this season, so it's not as if there's a huge difference between us and the play off teams, except the fact we're not incisive in front of goal, coupled with our inability to defend set pieces.

The goal scoring issue needs to be addressed, and I'm sure the set pieces problem will be eradicated in time...

Whilst i broardly agree with you that motivation is difficult when this season has effectively been written off since we were knocked out of the cup and a lot of the players know they have no future I do think a couple more players will be staying.

I suspect we will see Williams, Gillespie, Dublin and De Vries all featuring reguarly next season. Note that in the case of Dublin and Gillespie their form has improved a lot since thye have been playing for contracts.

Talking of pre-season & Hearts fans views.

We may have a chance to directly ask them, we have heard a rumour of a pre-season friendly up there

It wouldn't suprise me. Would gibe levein a chnce to give the fans a proper good bye as well. Not that i would be going. Kilmarnock last season was enough to out me off.
