When in June? Need I ask if it coincides with my birthday as your holidays generally do

Shame you aren't going to Melbourne, most of my Mum's family live there and I went when I was 8 it was smashing from what I remember.

Your birthday is ok, it's The Cobbmeister's birthday we'll be missing again. We shall be in Hong Kong, I think.

I understand Melbourne is cold and damp in June. My doctor told me this when I was 7.

Sydney is crap you know, i was made to say that from as i am from Melbourne. But i guess there is plenty to do and see there accomidation is more expensive there as well. Went there last June and it was mid 20's which is beatiful for winter and a goodtrip but it does get cold a night. Only low light was the flight home hung over, the fact our team lost and that me and my mate witnessed a racial hate crime at 430am in the morning and threatened too keep our mouthes shut.

The other choice we had was Cairns, which would still be hot, but the other half doesn't really do beach holidays. I guess Sydney will have a lot to keep us occupied with. All places have their good and bad points, to be fair. Except Hersonissos in Crete, which is a shithole.

I doesn't matter about Sam's :giggle: I jest...or do I?

According to my windows vista weather bar :P it's 19 degrees in Melbourne at the present time and 2 degrees in Grantham, I could go through the other 5 I have stored but would hate to bore anyone :D

Melbourne is lovely, even if is wet and damp and freezing. Oh and im there :D

Cairns will be ridiculussly hot and not much to do my folks went in September but there are good island not far from there.

Sydney has the bridge (boring) and opera house the harbour it is all right if you are a tourist as they get a lot of them.

Hong Kong is awesome but only has a life span of 3days max.

Yeah, the cable car is on me list. I fancy a ride on a junk boat, but I get seasick

Sydney. I am planning on going to Bondi beach, even if it is cold.

Apart from that I have no other plans, but seeing as we're only there for a few days, I'm sure we'll find something to do! Even if it is AFL :P

Bondi beach is incredibly overhyped and is just complete and utterly rammed. Go to Coogee Beach. It's teh next one along, less busy and nicer.

That looks nice. I like the absence of sea weed in particular; it is sea weed free, isn't it?

It was when I was there

I hope it stays that way. :)

It's well into the 30s today in Ottawa, too. Nearly 40.

Thank god I don't work today, there's no way I want to have to go outside at all.

Montréal is where it's at - a predicted -28 degrees Centigrade for tomorrow Thursday. Yes! Wish I was there to freeze off my buttocks.

J'aime bien la Belle Province. Je me souviens de toute façon.

Goodness me, I do not remember it being that cold when I went to Ottawa. That's ridiculous!

You should see what it's like in winter.

lol

The worst I've experienced was a wind chill of -42 degrees. That was frighteningly cold. You stepped outside, and the instant you did so you could feel the cold blast of air literally freezing the moisture within your nostrils. It's absolutely awful. Breathing is less than comfortable... the cold air mixing with any kind of moisture is not a pleasant feeling, so inhaling through the mouth is not recommended. The cold wind on the eyes will make them water, which is also a bad thing as the moisture around your eyes will also freeze very quickly.

At the other end of the scale, the hottest day I've experienced was a day where the mean temperature was about 37 and with the humidity (practically 100%) it felt like 45 degrees. Similar to feeling the freeze the second you stepped out that one extremely cold morning, the reverse happened with this day... you stepped outside and before you even got a foot outside the door, your pores had opened up and you were gushing sweat. Five minutes in that and it looked as though you had just stepped out of a wet t-shirt competition.

Ottawa has quite the range. lol

I've been hot all afternoon (though I'm not sure if the weather's got anything to do with it)

You're not sickening for something, I hope.
