The Reverend Posted 25 February 2009 Posted 25 February 2009 I got a call from T-Mobile about a month ago trying to sell me mobile broadband (the one with the usb stick) - basically told them to cock off. Just checking my call log now, and its that number. As i said though, I actually spoke to someone.

As i said though, I actually spoke to someone. Yeah, due to the automatic dialling system the agents can't talk for a few seconds apparently. If you stay on the line they'll talk. Just do what the guy says on the website SUAS linked and it should stop As per my update on page 24 of this thread, this is definately T-Mobile calling you and to complain about it, simply fully complete the email form on the t-mobile site as I did.http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/service/contact-us/email/account/ To help...you can cut and paste this standard text if you wish... when mailing them "I have been receiving numerous phone calls on my t-mobile phone from 08454122750. Each time I answer, the line is dead and is obviously a marketing event from your company as confirmed on page 24 of the website:-http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/08454122750/24 On calling the number it advises that "You received a call from T-Mobile, you do not need to take any further action as a result of this call" Comments from YOUR CUSTOMERS on the Whocallsme website clearly shows your company image is being tarnished by using this sales manner. Please remove me from all telephone sales calls from T-mobile, a request which I understand takes up to 14 days" I did the above and have not had a call since, excluding an apology from T-Mobile by phone.

Daggers Posted 27 February 2009 Posted 27 February 2009 STAFFORDSHIRE Police has launched a new telephone number which will make it cheaper for people to contact them. The force consulted the public about the change and chose the new number – 0300 123 4455 – because it is easy to remember and dial. It will replace the former number, which was 08453 302010. People can use the number to speak to police about anything which is not a 999 emergency. The new number costs 6p per minute from a BT landline and, unlike the previous number, can be added to talk plans or free call bundles offered by various networks.

And, incidentally, here is a useful petition... (in case anyone should have missed it) PETITION: Prevent local health centres and hospitals from using 08 numbers such as 0844, 0845 or 0870. I, for one, am rather annoyed that I can no longer ring my doctor's surgery from my mobile without having to pay extra.
