You seem to be comparing League 1 to some sort of youth club

There's no excuse. All Pearson needs to do is tell his team to go out there as if they've already lost the record and focus on scoring as many goals as they can.

At the beginning of the season I wondered who could stop us scoring two goals a game. Now, it's hard to see where goals are coming from because we have no width, no movement and no-one driving forward at pace from midfield.

Pearson has not developed our side at all. We've gone backwards since the first few games and the whole approach since just after Christmas has been pathetic including those cup games against Palace.

Apart from Walsall I don't think we've really committed ourselves wholeheartedly to winning one single game.

Pearson is typical of too many managers. He is so concerned with simply accumulating points and not losing that he seems to ignore his responsibility for giving the fans something to see and get excited about.

Several of our recent additions to the side have offered very little and certainly nothing by way of improvement and poor King, as the fulcrum is starting to suffer from having no movers around him offering pass and move opportunities. He needs some proper help. AGREE but I dont think KING is the answer he is to lightweight and gets knocked off the ball in many circumstances, but his overall positioanl play and final ball is very good

Times I took a general look at the pitch tonight and the whole team was static. Any pass to anyone was going to leave the recipient trapped. Too many of the players look tired and that's the managers fault for not using them more sparingly and not having sufficient youthful energy in reserve and not using the little he does have properly.

Perhaps he should ring Sire Alex Ferguson up and beg for a lesson in squad usage and inspirational psychology.

Cos then our team might regain some zip and not be neutered by silly thoughts about silly records. We need to get back to what we were doing earlier in the season...closing down quickly and putting teams under real and sustained pressure by getting the whole team to give proper support. AGREE

Instead our current attitude was reflected in our reaction to scoring.

We stopped closing Stockport down quickly and instead conceded ground far too readily. At one stage Stockport were even playing the ball around their back four without a City player within 10 yards of them to the disgust of our fans. DISAGREE this was a typical 10 man behind the ball tactic to get a point from an away game

I've rarely been so disillusioned. It was a sodding disgrace.

If Pearson can't send a team out with a determination to win by scoring goals and looking as if they enjoy their job then he's not the manager I hoped he'd be.

Five draws in six matches against perfectly ordinary teams, three of them at home, is no advertisement for this club.

Particularly when we're top of the League and have no reason whatsoever to be nervous or devoid of expression.

AGREE with most points but every team has its ups and lows, but we will be crest fallen again IF we manage promotion as we look one diamensional at times and I really cannot see what people see in Morrison or Fryatt for all there efforts they can look ordinary at times. One plus point is Hobbs who I rate very highly.

But let me first tell you the reason I choose to watch my hometown club.

It is to see them commit to an entertaining game of football in which they try to play the game as if they enjoy it and try to score some goals.

If I was esxpecially bothered about Premiership football or the glories of the Champions League why the hell would I ever choose to watch Leicester?

I do what so many others do, support Manchester United or one of the other big four.

It happens that I don't think it impossible to win trophies and play fast, positive, entertaining football.

In fact Manchester United have been the most successful club on earth with that approach.

But not us. We might be top of the League by a distance but we scarcely raised a gallop last night and that has so often been the case of late.

But I await your list of the positives from last night with interest.

dont always agree with you Thrac but this is a super post..... we have looked ok for parts of this season because the general standard of League One is basically crap. I still maintain that the jump from league one to the Championship is a major one and I dont feel that Pearson has equipped us with a side that will be able to make such a jump succesfully. I reiterate the point made a few weeks ago about winning at all costs and relying on loanees - we really have not moved on as a playing side from last season, particularly in terms of attacking options and FRYATT AND HOWARD ARE PLAYING AT THEIR CORRECT LEVEL - for me, Pearson will be left with the task of assembling essentially a new team of players in the summer, which is gonna be risky - I just hope he can do it because, if we start next season with Fryatt and Howard up top, served by Dyer and Oakley we will struggle, of that I'm convinced.

From what i've seen of your play it seems like you grind a team into submission for the victory, as successful as this has been for you it has obviously had a toll on your players, tiring them out and damaging performances. In the crucial month of March you will either fly or fall, there will be no middle ground, the games coming thick and fast will offer little time to recover and having to break down teams with all 11 men behind the ball.

Personally i think you will last the distance, i don't think you will leave first spot for the rest of the season. Every other team has to play each other and will invariably drop points, i cannot see ourselves going unbeaten till the rest of the season.

As has been said elsewhere Nigel Pearson has obviously built you a squad just to get you out of this league and will change it all round next season, he has chosen players for the qualities needed in this division but with a bit of flair and extra quality so you can snatch points or win even when you aren't playing well. You could possibly stutter over the line and not let it affect the confidence for next season as you will have almost an entirely different squad.

We are not playing well at all and still unbeaten, says more about the standard of the opposition that us. IMO we are a poor side, however everyone else apart from a few on a good day are crap & worse. No offence, you seem to be the best of the rest.
