Munzie Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 Hopefully Pearson's inserting rockets up most of their asses as we speak.
martyn Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 He's been great all season and now suddenly he makes a bad mistake and he's "dogshit". Get a life! I happen to think Mattock is extremely poor....irrespective of mistakes. As a full back it isn't your job to get continually skinned by wingers and contributing a negligible amount in attack.
Salieri Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 I happen to think Mattock is extremely poor....irrespective of mistakes. As a full back it isn't your job to get continually skinned by wingers and contributing a negligible amount in attack. Mattock certainly has potential but he doesn't seem to be developing and improving as a player at the rate that was maybe hoped when he first came on the scene. He's still a young lad but talk of Premiership clubs looking at him seems a million miles away at the moment. You can't talk about "potential" forever, he needs to work hard at his game both defensively and in an attacking sense. I wouldn't write him off just yet though and hope he stays with us for the foreseeable and works hard to take his game to te next level.
Ultra Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 Good vibes on the terraces at half-time. We're doing OK, just need a little more of a cutting edge. Sloppy work by Mattock for their penalty. Quality free-kick by Oakley though. Let's hope the team step things up in the 2nd half..
Pegosteve Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 Next 45 mins is massive what more incentive do they need win today gives us 86 points, realistically 87 - 89 should be enough for promotion. Come on wear that shirt with pride and finish the job, not ime for pissing around now.
act smiley Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 Both fullbacks have been gash but after the goal the midfield shape has improved and more than dyer are there to get the ball

As a full back it isn't your job to get continually skinned by wingers and contributing a negligible amount in attack. I've never signed up to the hype surrounding Mattock (various premiership enquiries etc), but we must remember that he is part of a young and, in parts, inexperienced defensive line-up. If you include Gilbert (who would have been playing instead of Brown today), all four are still learning their trade. Whilst he hasn't set the world on fire, he has mainly gone about his business as well as his other colleagues at the back. Take him out and who would you replace him with? Powell? Too old to remain effective for 90+ mins. Berner? Possibly has more influence in midfield than defence. Other than his mis-timed tackle today, what has he done wrong? His late clearence sounded like a key move to me.
Tilley Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 not time for pissing around now. This. Get the job done lads, get us promoted then in a few weeks you can go on holiday & put your feet up. But for now, pull your fingers out & get us up.

Berner - Gradel,Oakley,King,Dyer (Is that enough??)

I'm not suggesting that we don't have better options in midfield than Berner. Berner is more effective in the middle of the park than when he plays at the back.
Tilley Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 Sunderland 1 - 1 Man Utd. ! Anyway, Leicester sound alot better this half.
East London Fox Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 my mate is a Plymouth fan. He said loads of Cov fans have left at half time!!
Tilley Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 Pompey 1 - 2 West Brom. Aha. Fuuuuuucking hell lads, get us a goal.
Pegosteve Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 Come on lads get a grip. Gradel for Berner come on big push!!
Munzie Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 Could do with a performance from Gradel (or maybe a special freekick!)
Pegosteve Posted 11 April 2009 Posted 11 April 2009 We need to get a hold on this game otherwise we will be hanging on for a point. Not something we should be doing against a side so adrift at the bottom.
