The 36-year-old former Olympic gold medallist has hung up his gloves four months after being outclassed by Ricky Hatton opponent Manny Pacquiao. De la Hoya said: "Boxing is my passion, it was what I was born to do and when I can't do it anymore it's not fair to me, to the fans or anybody else."
