How many noughts are there in a quadrillion? I know a trillion is 1,000,000,000,000 which I think is a million million?

Billion = thousand million = 1,000,000,000

Trillion = million million = 1,000,000,000,000

Quadrillion = thousand million million = 1,000,000,000,000,000

so it would be a bit like one of these for space giants, then....

I don't think anyone believes it has all happened by accident. Development, even within our own miniscule life-cycle is subject to logic and various laws of science and nature.

Whether those laws are themselves down to some infinitely superior intelligence is another matter.

Some believe they are, some believe they're not and some admit the real truth which is that no-one really knows.

And that is despite what religious leaders of various faiths would have us believe as a means of exerting power over us but also of pretending that they know far more than is really the case.

Faith is just that. It is nebulous and in no way needs to be collective apart from reasons of manipulation and, possibly, mutual comfort.

But boy is faith used as a vehicle for coercion, corruption and mind manipulation. And if there is a superior intelligence, I hate to imagine what "He" thinks about it, especially if he meant the human mind to have free will.

Just before the big bang there were a load of scientists working on a large hadron collider in a place called Switzerland...

Nearly correct, but there was only ONE scientist !

You see, I am of the accidental and scientific theory. Everything else that has been created in the universe since has been completely accidental. For example humans have stumbled along and completely accidentally discovered all the knowledge to create the society that we have today. My personal feelings about religion are most likely caused by experience of people trying to force it upon me. However, I feel that it is very opressive to certain people, where it is brilliant for some it doesn't help others. I feel that is the true spirit of religion, it is as a sort of beacon of hope rather than a physical creator and guardian.

Just doesn't do it for me though, I feel free, happy and relaxed enough without it at the moment. They do say that in darker times you can always turn to religion though.

Correct we have stumbled, but nothing we have created is as perfect and never-ending as our universe. The Creator of the universe is much more reliable and adept than us.
