Pearson's signings last season

Not good enough for another thread, but I love Bruno Berner. Do you reckon he'll be at the club much longer? Would love him on the back of my new shirt. Or Gradel or Dyer. Even Fryatt. But Bruno first.

I would rank Hobbs, Morrison, Tunchev, Powell, Dyer as perfect signings. We couldn't have signed better. Powell definitely must have had a positive impace in the changing room as well as on the pitch.

They are the famous five from NP :giggle:

Agreed. I think he's been slightly under appreciated. He's a very good player and would be even better if he'd been given a regular spot/position.

I'm not sure about Nicky Adams, he seems to have ability, but he was never given a chance really. Hope he develops, and gets good enough, he seems like a nice lad.

Lucky B@stard :D

Bit hard to get to Southend from Melbourne though :(

Berner 31 on the away shirt me thinks.

Unrelated, but are you English and living in Australia, or Australian? And if it's the latter, how come you support Leicester?!

Pearson has had an excelent first season as manager but I am sure some of you would rate Jeg The Peg or Billy Bunter with sevens or eight if our manager had signed them.

Lloyd Dyer 8/10 (He had a blip but his goals and assists were plentiful for a winger).

Nicky Adams 0/10 (What has he contributed. Where people get sixes from I don't know. What has he contributed as yet?)

Michael Morrison 7/10 (Steady defender who is a little more versatile than I imagined. Satisfactory first season).

Aleksander Tunchev 7/10 (Excellent signing but Kevin Phillips showed the guy is nowhere near perfection and he's managed half a season because of injury which may, I agree, be unfortunate for him, but he's yet to show he's durable enough to be a long-term success in the supremely demnanding English League).

Chris Powell 5/10 (Another who benefits from people having stars in their eyes. Great bloke, wonderful role model but left-back has been a problem position and neither he nor Mattock have been the right answer from anything I watched.

Paul Dickov 0/10 (Injured part of the time and rarely better than indifferent the rest of it. Waste of space).

Mark Edworthy 3/10 (Okay deputy on occasions but those occasions were few and I would far rather we'd given experience to someone younger).

Kerrea Gilbert 7/10 (Acceptable replacement for Stearman, quick and involved for the most part. Played a fair number of matches and helped us keep a tight defence. Well worth seven.

Jack Hobbs 8/10 (Very good aerially and a guy with loads of potential. It's clear lots of our fans don't give a toss about defenders being able to pass anyway and those will doubtless rate him a 10. Me I think he needs to improve his distribution considerably).

David Martin 6.5/10 (Reasonable custodian at the back of a sound defence but not the greatest or the fastest when it came to distribution)

Mark Davies 7/10 (Might have had a 10 had he been here for more matches. Genuinely talented player who did extremely well for us. Pity we weren't ever in a position to win his services on a permanent basis).

Tom Cleverly 6/10 (Brilliant one minute, frustrating the next. Sometimes he looked totally naive and unable to get his head up to see the pictures and other times he was quick to the tackle and really positive on the ball. Young, inexperienced and didn't play enough for us before his injury but definitely a player with some promise).

Wayne Brown 6.5/10 (Looked so slow and unfit against Hartlepool and MK Dons but made his presence felt with his organising and no-nonsence defending thereafter. I'll be interested to see how he fares in a hopefully fuller season in The Championship).

David Stockdale 6/10 (Liked him. Keen, alert, focused and capable. But he didn''t play often enough to get more than six.

Tony Warner 5/10 (Did nothing that really cost us in his few games but I was never convinced. He looked a bit of a flapper to me).

Astrit Ajdarevic 1/10 (Showed a little promise at Crewe but that was about it. It's obvious the guy has skills but to think Pearson preferred to play him ahead of Psssh just showed what a mean so-and-so the boss could be).

Bruno Berner 6/10 (I was never really convinced by him. But he put his stint in and an average contribnution deserves an average mark).

Awww poor Levi, the boss is being mean. :giggle:

I think all the bestmanagers I could name would be described by some as mean!
