Watford's Brendan Rodgers should be unveiled as the Reading manager today.

The Royals are understood to have asked to speak to Rodgers last Friday but the Hornets initially rejected their advances.

However, we understand Rodgers expressed his desire to speak to his former club and after Reading improved their compensation deal, which is understood to be package just short of £1 million, Watford accepted their approach.

The Hornets assistant manager Dean Austin, football consultant Frank Lampard Snr and football physiologist Karl Halabi are expected to join the Royals in the coming weeks.
