JoeyB Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 Anybody know anyone around the Loughborough ish area who will do it cheaply for cash in hand? Just spoke to my insurance about it and they will freeze my no claims bonus if i do it through them and only being 19 that 3rd years no claim (touches wood) would be very beneficial to me.

Thats with your insurance is fully comp, basically if your insurance covers it. now i just rang and spoke to another woman and she said if its just a repair im ok but if the glass needs to be replaced its a £65 excess and and it freezes my no claims
Monk Posted 11 June 2009 Posted 11 June 2009 Loughborough? There's a place opposite the Griff Inn for your windscreen, and for the chips head down to Rainbows

It shouldn't affect your no claims. Change insurance companies. A repair will not cost you anything and a replacement will cost you £65 - as long as you are fully comp. And NCB is not affected. At least, it shouldn't be.

It what the woman told me. All i have is a chip that is no bigger than the bottom of a marker pen, and the first woman said it would freeze my no claims. i then waited about 1 hour rang back and spoke to another woman who said if its a repair it won't do anything to my no claims but if its a replacement it will freeze my no claims and i will have to pay £65 excess. confusing!
