New ticket system - I'm raging

I've just read the link on thw website about the new ticket system for this year and I'm really annoyed about it.

My dads bday present is a few tickets to some matches but with 2 days notice I have to find the money to buy not only his membership but all the tickets. The membership details aren't released until Saturday so I need to sort that then buy tickets whilst hoping that games like Forest don't sell out. I also have to renew 2 season tickets on Saturday too to make sure my partner and I get our tickets. We couldn't afford the deposit until the end of the month.

I saw the 'all home games available' thing on the website recently but like others on this forum I thought 'nah, I won't have to pay out for everything', but we do. With 2 days notice. Some idea of the membership scheme even 1 day in advance would be nice.

I'm so annoyed!

I doubt the games will sell out even though they are on sale so early. Half the people who go down probably don't even know about the new system.

Get the membership and buy the tickets at a later date.

Agreed, unless the tickets are heavily discounted in the advance package!!

Me again,

I just spoke to tthe ticket office and everything is going on sale on Saturday and the membership details aren't available until then but she was able to give me the info over the phone. They are (I'm afraid this is the senior price but will hopefully give you an idea):

basic membership = £15

Platinum = £45 inc 2 free tickets for ANY match

Platinum Plus = £85 incl 5 free tickets for ANY match

Apologies for the block capitals but I want to stress that they include the Notts Forest etc. So whilst I'm not happy to pay out straight away (I can't really afford to) the savings on the platinum plus membership can't be argued with. So I'll go with that.

Why? You don't have to buy tickets for any match this week-end...the point is you can if you want to. Over the next few weeks there will no doubt be a steady trickle of people buying tickets for games, but it's not as if even the bigger games are going to actually sell out in a week or something. In fact I'd be surprised if more than perhaps one or two matches in the whole season actually officially sold out anyway.

If you want to buy the tickets after buying the membership (which I suppose you do) and your dad's birthday is on Monday or something, then yes it will be a right pain. But that's just the bad luck that your dad's birthday falls on that date really - sod's law I'm afraid :S

Although I agree the club should have released membership prices earlier - it would be better if they'd had done it when releasing the 09/10 ticket prices...would have made things more simple...

Aye fair enough, I think that is it's so important to me (it's his 60th) I don't there to be any chance of missing out. If it were for me (if I wasn't a ST holder) then I'd be ok but it's that thing where I'd feel responsible if I didn't get them. I'll get the Plat+ membership and tickets that way.
