davieG Posted 16 July 2009 Posted 16 July 2009 From the Merc New Leicester City signing Robbie Neilson will miss the first two matches of the Championship season through suspension. Neilson sits out the opening fixture against Swansea at the Walkers Stadium on Saturday, August 8, and the trip to Ipswich a week later. The 29-year-old full-back is ruled out by a two-game ban imposed by the Scottish Football Association after he picked up six bookings for the second season running while playing for Premier League Hearts. It applies only to League matches, so he will be available for the Carling Cup tie at Macclesfield on August 12. A Scottish FA spokesman said: "His last caution on May 12 took him to 18 points, which is a one-game ban. "And because he also amassed 18 points during the 2007-08 season, that warrants another one-match suspension. "The suspension came into effect on May 26, which was 14 days after his last offence by which time the Scottish season had ended. The Football Association in England has already contacted us to confirm the situation." Neilson made his competitive debut for City in last weekend's 1-1 draw at Tamworth before the squad flew to Slovenia for this week's training camp.
Fox92 Posted 16 July 2009 Posted 16 July 2009 When he misses the Swansea and Ipswich games, does this mean Morrison will be playing in Robbie's position at right back?

Fox92 Posted 17 July 2009 Posted 17 July 2009 Who else can play there? Hobbs - remember last season - I bloody well hope not! That young lad O'Neill - haven't seen much of him. Too bad we released Marc Edworthy
still tynie Posted 3 August 2009 Posted 3 August 2009 Wondering how new right back signing Robbie Neilson from Hearts is doing , although i realize it may take him a couple of months to settle in to a new team , what have his performances like . He likes to get forward in attack , is a long throw expert and can make a good last ditch tackle when called upon . Do you feel he can make this position his own and help lead Leicester back into the Premiership ?
