General Smuts Posted 14 August 2009 Posted 14 August 2009 Today i leave Nissan after 12 months of hard graft dicking about. Really enjoyed it and am not looking forward to leaving a desk job to find myself behind the till again. Did anyone else on here to a work placement year at un and if so how did you deal with this? Looking forward to going back to uni and being a student again but a part of me will still miss the working life.

Looking forward to going back to uni and being a student again but a part of me will still miss the working life. I did a year placement as part of my degree, had a great time, earned good money and played more sports than ever in my life (wasn't much real work going on for me ). Back at Uni was a major shock initially, no money, having to work etc. Drink got me through it (as it should, you are a student!).
Guest Posted 14 August 2009 Posted 14 August 2009 Did anyone else on here to a work placement year at un and if so how did you deal with this? Sir Fynwy did, and I don't know. I think he may have got drunk.
Dr The Singh Posted 14 August 2009 Posted 14 August 2009 Sir Fynwy did, and I don't know. I think he may have got drunk. I did, found it tough for the first semister, being the final year, it was hard knuckling down, the year break meant I felt like a fresher again!!
Katy Posted 14 August 2009 Posted 14 August 2009 Noope, but roll on september when my next student loan comes. Agreed.
Alexikokopops Posted 14 August 2009 Posted 14 August 2009 Yeah not looking forward to living off of a student loan again either, im used to a monthly wage! Yeah, as much as I miss the dicking around side of being a student I couldn't get used to having to live off a student loan again! Plus I quite like not having to worry about ANYTHING at weekends. It's delightful

I'm not looking forward to being in a library working on a dissertation on a saturday night.
