fox123 Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 Strolling round town today and someone (don't know who) tried connecting to my phone via Bluetooth. If I had accepted, can people have access to my phone? If so, what access do they have? Is it best to have Bluetooth turned off?

With the newer phones I don't think you can access other files but with some older ones you can. Doesn't really matter either way because If someone was to access your phone they would need permission from you.
fox123 Posted 13 October 2009 Author Posted 13 October 2009 Yea, I declined the connection. Was just wondering what they could access on my phone if I had allowed the connection.
lou Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 just a thought.... why do you leave it on when youre not actually using it?
samlcfc Posted 13 October 2009 Posted 13 October 2009 The limits of what they can do depend on what phone you have. Its usually limited to them sending you something If you want it I believe. There used to be a thing on one of the phones where if the person accepted it gave you control of their phone .
ACF Posted 14 October 2009 Posted 14 October 2009 There are programs out there which can hack into your phone. My mate did it to me. Kicked him in the nads and turn the language back to english.
Fox92 Posted 14 October 2009 Posted 14 October 2009 I always get those bluetooth invite things in large places such as the football, meadowhall etc. Dunno why, but I always reject.

It's not always malicious, some people just send photos to people, it happens in lots of busy/boring places, the dole office, town centre... walkers stadium.
