OriginalRobboFOX Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Saturday was utter drivel and I left on 70 minutes. Last night was utter drivel too and again I left early. I, like most others, was wounded too. However, people seem to have short term memories. Have we all forgotten how wank we were under Allen, Burrows, Holloway et al?? Remember the Sheff Weds and the Stokes. We were bad. Last year we were lucky as fans to witness such a quality season and I'm sure we'll all remember that for a long time. However, its gone..... let it go. We are not now, nor never going to have been the best team in the league as we were last year. People need to calm the **** down, reign yourselves in a bit and realise that consolidation this term is better than spunking away what little cash we have on 'promotion hope saving transfers'.... Sure, we've lost two games in the space of a week and we've played some pretty awful football, but I'd rather be where we are now than where we were on 4th May 2008. Have your little rants but then remember how far we've come in the short space of time thanks largely to NP and get behind the boys a bit more.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 True mate. Anyone remember, Years ago it was a cold tuesday night, and Leicester played Millwall at filbert street. We lost 3-0 i think, and people were calling for the sacking of the manager. Angry fans ended up smashing the foyer up with bricks, and bricking everything in sight. That manager was Martin O'Neill, and that year we sneaked into the playoffs, and ended up getting promoted. Maybe its a sign?

OriginalRobboFOX Posted 9 December 2009 Author Posted 9 December 2009 What, by leaving on 70 minutes in two consecutive games? Yeah, thats honesty. It was bad, I've had my little moan, now I'm just gonna reign my neck in a bit and realise that we've (still) had a fantastic start to the season and consolidation is the way....

I prefer people that rant on line to get it out of their systems to people that boo or leave early. I say rant on release all those frustrations on a forum like this you'll feel better for it and it's harming no one.

I see what your saying, but when I see people 'ranting' on FT calling NP's head etc it makes me turn off.... Fickle and naive spring to mind...
davieG Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 I see what your saying, but when I see people 'ranting' on FT calling NP's head etc it makes me turn off.... Fickle and naive spring to mind... But if everyone did what you did and the stadium emptied on 70 minutes wouldn't that be sending out the same message but in a much more visible and direct way?
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 9 December 2009 Author Posted 9 December 2009 But if everyone did what you did and the stadium emptied on 70 minutes wouldn't that be sending out the same message but in a much more visible and direct way? Yes.... and maybe I was wrong to walk out. But I cant change it. In no way was I suggesting that NP should go, it was just terribly painful to watch. I did walk out but I didn't try and get everyone to come with me. I just don't condone over the top kneejerk reactions i.e. suggesting NP should be sacked and millions of £££ be splashed out on a whole new team.... simples.
philce Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 But if everyone did what you did and the stadium emptied on 70 minutes wouldn't that be sending out the same message but in a much more visible and direct way? I really dont see the point of leaving early? I nearly did at Wembley Vs Swindon when we were 0-3 down, I'm glad I didnt and never will. OK so we were shit, but there are people who leave 10 minutes early evey game. Whats the point? You pay enough for the ticket, at least stay for the whole game!!!
Daggers Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 Whats the point? You pay enough for the ticket, at least stay for the whole game!!! Because sometimes I don't eat all of a meal. There's times when I turn a film off or leave a cinema. I've been known to leave beer in a glass on occasions. If I feel like something is wasting my time I'll go do something else, and that includes football. I can live with myself if the spinach tasted OK afterall, Danny Dyer got ripped into a million pieces or City equalise. I wasted 20 minutes of my life on Saturday when I could have been getting pissed.

lou Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 What, by leaving on 70 minutes in two consecutive games? Yeah he should have stayed and booed them off If hed had enough on 70 mins (and I dont blame him personally) then hes more than entitled to leave as far as Im concerned. Of course he's entitled to leave, but I find it a bit hypocritical that someone who has left with 20 minutes to spare on two consecutive games is preaching about getting behind the team.
Legend_in_blue Posted 9 December 2009 Posted 9 December 2009 I'll take consolidation, but only until the January transfer window. We're two players away from pushing on for a strong second half of the season. NP needs to ruffle a few feathers as well in between then and now. If we don't bring in the quality we need, teams will suss us out more on the second time of asking, and we'll struggle to maintain top 10. Top 10 is a realistic target imo and if we can add to the team in Jan to make us stronger, I'd take that.

I do have a name.... And it was ten mins left against Bristol not twenty But it would be ok to boo and then ask people to get behind the team? I left cos it was simply shocking and I took the chance of missing a world class 20 minute fightback to beat the traffic. I didn't immediately come on FT and start slagging off the team and start nay-saying. I still think it's a massive over reaction to come on this forum and drum support for NP's sacking etc. Rather than encourage people to stay away I was asking people to have some realistic thought. <_<

That's not to say I don't appreciate your sentiments but every new thread started as a result of these last 2 games contributes to the over reaction.

We've lost 2 games and are 7th. I would have took this at the start of the year ....
leicesterfox86 Posted 10 December 2009 Posted 10 December 2009 What, by leaving on 70 minutes in two consecutive games? Exactly. Hardly getting behind the team is it? We are having a slightly dodgy patch. Nothing more. Who would have taken where we are now at the beginning of the season? Every single one of us.
