Hardly their fault though when it's advertised as an 'all seater' stadium. They don't say except for the Kop or L1 :dunno:

no but like at Filbert Street you should know what to expect depending on what area of the ground you go in

Yes but unlike Filbert St many of these current ST holders that don't want to stand, have no intention of standing bought their tickets when the stadium opened when there was no history of where people stood. Just North (Family) South, East & West Stands.

People, in the main would have bought their tickets based on what they could afford thus choosing the West Stands if they wanted cheapest and the possibility of fewer kids.

Actually the South Stand was advertised as "The New Kop" and for the first season at least this worked out and the atmosphere was generally very good (helped in no small part to the on pitch success). I remember at the Milwall game a Steward asking a fan to be seated and he put his arms out wide and started singing "Stand up, if you love Leicester" and all of a sudden had another 2,000 fans standing alongside him - rather ammusingly the steward went to get back up!!!

Unfortunately, over the past six seasons a lot of the standers/singers have migrated towards the away fans. I can completely understand why as I used to love being in the "crazy corner" at Filbert Street having some great banter with the opposition fans. My point is, that I feel that it is the club's responsibility to provide the conditions for a good atmosphere to be created and the fan's responsibility to create said atmosphere. Lot's of things have been suggested (i.e. switching the Kop and Family Stands; having an alternative "cheap" section to the the Kop; no children/senior discounts in certain areas of the ground) but, to my knowledge, the club have done very little to provide the conditions required to create a good atmosphere (in fact the only thing that I can think of is that LJ now has a drum!).

At some point in the future the football bubble of the last 15 years will burst and a lot of the "new-fans" will stop attending as quickly as they started. The true football fans will remain loyal - you don't choose to support Leicester City - it's something that you were born to do!!! Let's just hope that when this happens people will still remember why they enjoy going to watch live football so much.

At this point, I will stand down from the soap box and let somebody else have their turn...

That was the point I was making you can't blame the fans for where they sit because the club have encouraged 'family' integration I presume because they feel it creates a 'safer' environment - which it probably does but at the expense of atmosphere.

As for when we moved in irrespective of how they might have advertised it they still official, and all documentation called it the South Stand and made it the cheapest, potentially child free area.

Gots to be done though. I know they don't listen on the whole but if they're not seeing actual living proof of what people are complaining about it's not going to even begin to help. Better for me to give things a go than to sit and moan but not be pro-active.

That's how I feel about it all.

When we moved to the WS, the idea was to get the entire old South Stand in the new one. The way they pitched the sales was to sell the lower half of the new Kop to those who "sat" in the old Kop, and the top half to those who sat in the Double Decker. People being people, some of the those who have had season tickets since we've moved don't want to change seats, however they don't like having fans standing in front of them when they want to sit. This is not the fault of the fans, as such; it's been created by the club, to some extent.

I have always been against organised singing sections. I feel that atmosphere should be created throughout the stadium. But football is changing. Clubs are trying to attract new fans who have no experience of football as it was. They don't know the songs, they may not even like the banter. It pains me to say it, but it's getting to the point where like-minded fans should be together. Those who want to stand should stand together, and those who want to sing should sing together. That way those who go to games to sit and watch in silence can do, and neither type of supporter upsets the other.

It saddens me to write that. Why we can't just get on with supporting our team in whatever way we feel, without being abused, I don't know.
