Phil Brown's a Numpty

Wayne Brown talks about former boss Phil Brown and working under Nigel Pearson...

“I’ve enjoyed my time under him. He’s chalk and cheese to what I was used to at Hull under Phil Brown.

"Nigel’s very placid and keen for the lads to have the limelight, whereas Phil Brown liked the limelight himself. Nigel lets the lads do the talking on the pitch and I think that’s the way it should be.”

Can't see Pearson ever doing a teamtalk on the pitch anyway!

Decent interview with Browny...

I want to win as many trophies as I can, hence why I didn’t stay at Hull. I wanted to improve my career and I think Leicester is the perfect opportunity to do that.

Anyone know which shop Mrs Wayne Brown owns in Hull?

I think yesterday might have shown some of the Brown boo-boys what we would miss with out him. He may not be as technically comptetant as Tunchev, but at least he's decisive and gives strikers as challenge. Bruce might have potential but he seemed miles off it.

Did I miss something yesterday then because from what I saw our defenders gave one of the top scoring teams in the Championship nothing.. not even a sniff, Morrison and Hobbs were cool, commanding and extremely well disciplined throughout the game, so not really sure what your point is?

Agreed, thought the defence looked disciplined before and after Bruce went off

Don't really agree there - thought Bruce won everything in the air but managed to distribute well too... The whole defence (apart from when they all stood off Whittingham almost letting him score from outside the area, were totally comfortable and well-assured yesterday. I'm Brown's biggest fan, and I wouldn't necessarily choose Bruce over him when he's fit, but I wouldn't say we 'missed' him at all yesterday.

I though for the first 20 minutes yesterday Brown was playing for both teams and all I noticed was the changing pattern of the clouds. We then settled down and for 50/60 minutes the ball was on the deck a lot more from both sides. I don't think we ever looked overly threatened as there seemed to be a real intent to keep the space in front of the back four congested to prevent Cardiff running at them.

Having said previously, although not a big fan that only Brown and Tunchev could play the left CB position but I thought Hobbs performed that role excellently yesterday - he really has been on top form the last 3 games (didn't get to Sheff W) I've seen him play.

I'm suprised by people's comments on Bruce to be honest. I thought he backed off the strikers far too much, allowed them to get it down and play it wide (when they weren't diving about) - I thought they had it too easy, compared to how Hobbs and Brown usually deal with strikers in this division.

I thought this was confirmed by his early subbing. Even if he's not 100% match fit, he should be able to handle 45 minutes.

Bruce was no disgrace by any means, but I've obviously got a different view point. Even though he made no glaring mistakes, he didn't take many risks either at tackling his man, and on more than once occasion Hobbs had to come across and clear Bothroyd up.

Anyway, not a big issue compared to the whole team's performance. Just hope that people don't get on the back of Brown too much, we'll need him especially when the pressure cranks up in the playoff games and we need to deal with Forest again

He's a numpty on gardening leave now!

Seems pointless to me at this stage in the season. Maybe there is something more to it, like his big mouth
