Jon the Hat Posted 5 June 2011 Posted 5 June 2011 Gideon has suddenly become persona non grata, no one is returning his calls and economists who previously backed him are now lining up to criticise him. It appears they have suddenly realised what many of us have realised from day one, that Osborne is a twat and should never have been allowed anywhere near this country's economy. His only remedy was an already failed concept of his "mother's", Margaret Thatcher, who never understood economics either. These economists are all now like rats leaving the proverbial sinking ship (in some haste) before they become tarnished with the chancellors failures. No doubt in a year's time they will be all saying that of course they saw this coming all along and it will be extremely hard to find anyone that never saw this coming, and will be equally as hard to find anyone who will admit to voting Tory (or Lib Dem). http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2011/jun/04/george-osborne-plan-not-working Right... The US economy (where the dems are have been throwing money at the problem) is struggling, but in the UK it must be the cuts which are doing it!! Oh yes. Funny isn't how when Labour are in charge it is NOTHING to do with them when it all goes to shit, but when the Tories take over, it is immediately The Chancellor who is responsible for everything!!
FoxyPV Posted 5 June 2011 Posted 5 June 2011 I saw this and was slightly heartened until I realised it was a partisan report. I was hoping for a cross-bench condemnation(for want of a better phrase). I'm glad the coalition are attempting to address the sale of sexualised paraphenalia aimed at minors. Labour or lib dens on their own would've never tried this as they'd have been seen as anti-business. Ironic eh?

Although from what I briefly heard yesterday they are trying to do so without legislation, so we shall see whether the advertisers / retailers get their shit together over the next 18 months.

Zingari Posted 6 June 2011 Posted 6 June 2011 No change required. will "expert economists" ever agree on anything ?
l444ry Posted 6 June 2011 Posted 6 June 2011 will "expert economists" ever agree on anything ? You're just as likely to get an accurate economic prediction out of Mystic Meg as you are the IMF. Where was the IMF in the run up to the financial crisis?
