Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 9 August 2010 Posted 9 August 2010 Thats true for 90% of strikers though, Maybe, but they dont all miss like Fryatt does.
Vlad The Impaler Posted 9 August 2010 Posted 9 August 2010 Maybe, but they dont all miss like Fryatt does. Don't score like him either
caz05 Posted 9 August 2010 Posted 9 August 2010 Maybe, but they dont all miss like Fryatt does. Oh come on are you for real, how many games have you watched where even the top strikers in the world miss
MattyFromLE Posted 9 August 2010 Posted 9 August 2010 I'm really starting to see what some people on here are like. 45 mins into Saturdays game people wanted Sousa out, Weale to be shot, and Fryatt AND DJ sold! Get a grip! Everyone makes mistakes, but so long as they give 100% week in week out - surely they're worth supporting? Imagine people saying your shit behind your back whilst your trying to do your job.

Leicester Rule! Posted 9 August 2010 Posted 9 August 2010 To be honest, if people were saying i am shit behind my back whilst trying to do my job on the salary those overpaid players are on I woundn't care one bit....

Fair enough they are paid well, but it doesnt matter how much money you get,if people are constantly on your back it doesnt do much for your moral does it. And it could make them feel why should we bother
Guest ttfn Posted 9 August 2010 Posted 9 August 2010 True, but this is primarily because he is a goal scorer, pure and simple. His involvement in build up play is so rare that it invariably causes comment, when he is scoring this is forgiven, when he is not...... At the moment he looks unfit and a long way off the pace, hopefully that will turn around in due course. The real challenge is whether Sousa can improve his all round game such that he can lead the line as the central striker without the aid of the big man. This would help tremendously if we want to play 4-3-3/4-5-1. I actually disagree entirely with you on this. Fryatt's main problem on Saturday was that he tried to get involved TOO much. He lost the ball about 3 times on the half way line after dropping off with his back to goal, before getting crowded out. Compare this to DJ who happily sat on the shoulder (and with his pace, he has every right to) and you can see why maybe Fryatt lost possession more often. I recall one occasion only when it was clearly the right option for him to release the ball (I think DNG had made a run to his left and he didn't see him). Fryatt is undoubtedly a pretty greedy player but not as greedy as some would have us believe. In each of the last 2 seasons he's been in the top 2 or 3 assist makers as well as scorers, and in pre-season (which, if you believe the DJ love-in is the best possible guide to a player's true value) he set up plenty of goals. He does look unfit though.
nickelbyfox Posted 9 August 2010 Posted 9 August 2010 If we had someone in the midfield who could pull the strings sure this combination of Dj's Pace and through balls, combined with Fryatt to feet, would be an effective partnership. However Oakley and King dont exactly unlock defences and pick teams apart with their passing
Lcfcman2010 Posted 9 August 2010 Posted 9 August 2010 Hi guys, I don't want either Fryatt or DJ to go anywhere and look forward to the season ahead with these two playing up front most of the time. Stick super steve in the mix and some youngsters to learn and strike force is pretty superb! get DNG and LD supplying these strikers and we'll score one more than anyone!
Salieri Posted 9 August 2010 Posted 9 August 2010 Maybe, but they dont all miss like Fryatt does. Fryatts goals played a very large part in our promotion season from League One, which was a huge season for the club, bouncing back at the first attempt was crucial. He wasn't too shabby last season either until he got injured. Or has all that been erased from your memory? You always seem to feel the need to have your whipping boy(s). Is there something missing from your life?

MF has been a loyal player for this club (not like certain other players) Get behind the team all of them
