howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 9 August 2010 Posted 9 August 2010 Can someone tell me where all the talk of we should get rid of Fryatt and keep DJ keeps coming from? I hear it on here and on RL, We all need to give fryatt a break, theres not many strikers in this league that have scored 40+ goals in the last seasons, but most of our fans seem to think that we should bin him off for someone who's spent the last two years slagging us off,

Mr Happy Posted 9 August 2010 Posted 9 August 2010 Most of our fans are fickle spanners. Agreed. i agree as well we need to keep all our strikers. Agreed. We need goals and these two players are, in my opinon, our most likely sources for getting us goals.
Bettsj2 Posted 9 August 2010 Posted 9 August 2010 Leicester fans are basically a very rare breed. We all obviously love the club and pay our money to go and support the team in which ever way we see fit. However, there seems to be a real issue with a large proportion of Leicester fans that nothing is ever good enough and recently it has gotten so much worse. Fans calling in after the game on Saturday saying the Sousa is not the right man and Matty should be sold etc etc, is completely ridiculous. The same fans during our promotion season in League 1 could be heard in the stands slating Matty at every opportunity and constantly bringing up the relegation season where he hardly figured. I love my club and I want to keep abrest of all the goings on but i'm finding it harder and harder to go on forums or listen to the forum as there is just so much negativity.
Joe. Posted 9 August 2010 Posted 9 August 2010 Most of our fans are fickle spanners. Indeed, couldn't believe the cheer DJ Campbell got on Saturday.
Callabinho Posted 9 August 2010 Posted 9 August 2010 At the end of the day if we did loose Fryatt and D.J, who would replace them? Its one game for crying our loud! And obviously if Sousa looses his first game it means were doomed! Most of the fans calling in are armchair fans, a few people rang in who were at the game and said we were good we just made a few defensive errors! So after Forest away last season we fell to the bottom of the table....oh wait no we finished in the play-off's, for god sake these people need to chill out!
wurmer Posted 9 August 2010 Posted 9 August 2010 Maybe becuase Fryatt is sh*t. He isn't - he's mostly unfit though at the moment. People have short memories, he was a good player for us last season, and the goals stopped going in when he was out injured.
VampLCFC Posted 9 August 2010 Posted 9 August 2010 Fryatt is completely lacking confidence at the moment, he's been our first choice striker and almost our "star player" for the last two seasons, now DJ has come back into the squad and is stealing all the headlines, banging in goals every game, seems to be back in favour obviously with the new manager and now with the majority of the fans too. I think Fryatt preferes playing with Howard too, he thrives off the big mans knock downs, he needs to adjust quickly to the new playing style and new strike partner
howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 9 August 2010 Author Posted 9 August 2010 The main difference in my eyes is Fryatts a team player, where as DJ thinks about DJ and no one else,
Joe. Posted 9 August 2010 Posted 9 August 2010 The main difference in my eyes is Fryatts a team player, where as DJ thinks about DJ and no one else, You are surely not serious...
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 9 August 2010 Posted 9 August 2010 The main difference in my eyes is Fryatts a team player, where as DJ thinks about DJ and no one else, Fryatt is a greedy player.
Vlad The Impaler Posted 9 August 2010 Posted 9 August 2010 The main difference in my eyes is Fryatts a team player, where as DJ thinks about DJ and no one else, I agree with this, you can tell Fryatt plays for Leicester City and its fans, not just for the money. Granted, at times he can be greedy, but that doesn't mean he's not a team player, he's a striker ffs! Fryatt tends to be constantly slated by a section of our support, not saying you guys are but it just annoys me how much criticism he gets!

Thats what i meant, i just worded it wrong, i dont know why he does after all the slating he gets from some of the morons in the crowd though,
marbelladave Posted 9 August 2010 Posted 9 August 2010 Fryatt is a greedy player. True, but this is primarily because he is a goal scorer, pure and simple. His involvement in build up play is so rare that it invariably causes comment, when he is scoring this is forgiven, when he is not...... At the moment he looks unfit and a long way off the pace, hopefully that will turn around in due course. The real challenge is whether Sousa can improve his all round game such that he can lead the line as the central striker without the aid of the big man. This would help tremendously if we want to play 4-3-3/4-5-1.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 9 August 2010 Posted 9 August 2010 I understand that strikers are often greedy, for the fact they are strikers, but Fryatt has had numerous chances in the past wherehe has a minimal chance of scoring but others around him are in far better positions that he is. But he shoots anyway. He has been a goal scorer for us these past two seasons, but I think he could have not only scored more, but assisted a few more too.

Maybes Posted 9 August 2010 Posted 9 August 2010 He isn't - he's mostly unfit though at the moment. People have short memories, he was a good player for us last season, and the goals stopped going in when he was out injured. Hardly.
Corky Posted 9 August 2010 Posted 9 August 2010 Hardly. Discounting the five we scored in his first match out
m00nie Posted 9 August 2010 Posted 9 August 2010 im not a huge matty fan.. lost count the amount of times hes missed an oppurtunity or not passed it.. given the amount of chances he does get he should bang in alot more imo...
tomtom Posted 9 August 2010 Posted 9 August 2010 We need to keep both strikers and get behind them , all this rubbish preferring one over the other is a bit childish It's a long season and they'll both have good spells and bad, at the minute DJ is on fire and Matty is struggling but he will come good again and equally DJ will at somepoint have a dry spell , that's the point in having several strikers .
