Stadt Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 Anelka 2,Kalou2,Benayoun and Malouda In the first half Wigan played alright but now the're bottom.
Guest Bilo Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 18 goals conceded in their last 3 Premiership games without reply. Looks those we were right to say a Lancashire team would be rivalling Derby's record this season, just got the wrong team. They are absolutely woeful beyond belief.

Looks those we were right to say a Lancashire team would be rivalling Derby's record this season, just got the wrong team. They are absolutely woeful beyond belief. Even more impressive is that they've shipped 14 of those goals against the same team. I mean, how bad does a team have to be to lose 18 goals in 3 games? Surely there comes a point where you just plonk everyone on the edge of the box and lump it long and run the time down.
Guest Bilo Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 Don't forget the 9-1 pounding by Tottenham as well last season. Not as if these three results have been freaks. The only way they're staying up is they can find at least one 20 goal a season striker, and even then they might have too much to do.
sdb Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 they looked pretty ok for the 1st half hour. they just have no resilience or fight when they go 1 down. if N'zogbia, and/or Rodellega go before the transfer window shuts, i'd say they're down.
Edmund Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 As I said in the premier league thread it's a case of Martinez being stubborn and insisting on playing attractive attacking football. He really should've got the message by now that although with the right players you can pull it off you still need a plan b.
lildave3 Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 This is what happens when you get rid of Titus Bramble.
Guest Bilo Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 This is what happens when you get rid of Titus Bramble. In all fairness, he has an overly bad press. He has improved no end since his stint at Newcastle.
lildave3 Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 In all fairness, he has an overly bad press. He has improved no end since his stint at Newcastle. I'm a Bramble fan. Hence why I said they're now shit without him.
Guest Bilo Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 I'm a Bramble fan. Hence why I said they're now shit without him. Yeah I know mate. I was agreeing with you. You can really see how frail they've been without him. He's been treated terribly by the press and has come on in leaps and bounds over the past four or five years. Just experience and working under a good manager in Steve Bruce I suppose. Looks like he left Wigan at the right time, Martinez is clearly out of his depth and this could have dragged Bramble back to his poor form when he started at Newcastle.
Edmund Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 The Ironic thing is the Sunderland fans gave him the nickname Titus Shambles during his Newcastle days.
C-man Posted 21 August 2010 Posted 21 August 2010 It'd be a start if they played Hugo up top and not wide left. If they've spent £6/7m on this Boselli then play two up ffs!
Edmund Posted 22 August 2010 Posted 22 August 2010 Tottenham away next in the prem. Lost 9-1 on their last visit to White Hart Lane
Stadt Posted 22 August 2010 Author Posted 22 August 2010 Martinez can't accept that attractive football isn't always the most effective, they were holding such a high defensive line and would really help if they had an impact sub.
Head Honcho Posted 22 August 2010 Posted 22 August 2010 I couldn't believe the 50/1 on offer for this to finish 6-0 Chelsea so I stuck a fiver on it.............thank you Mr Paddy Power
Head Honcho Posted 22 August 2010 Posted 22 August 2010 HH you truly are a hero. Not a bad result but I'd say PP is still ahead of the game. A win like this every week would be very nice though.
