Bakey Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 Please note the title of this topic is mine as I moved it from one of the other Fosse Boy topics Bout time for a 'Fosse Boys' sub-forum thing with all these different threads flying around....
Bakey Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 Maybe needs some inverted commas around Official then Don't think it does as it clearly says..... As an official on behalf of the club
h1210 Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 Don't think it does as it clearly says..... Well you must be more willing to accept that than me
Joe. Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 Knocked up an article on Vital for you boys... http://www.leicester.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=211790 Let me know if anything needs adding.
Guest Bilo Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 What an absolute crock of shit this really is. More bullshit than a muck spreader. I'm pretty sure that The Dear Leader is just so arrogant he genuinely believes that he's right and the press, hundreds of City fans, the FSF and the SUSD can only aspire to his intellectual brilliance. What an absolute jebend.
Fossegirl Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 So you were not at the meeting then? I really dont want conjecture, I want someone who was at the meeting to answer me The organisers of the group have agreed to meet with LCFC on Friday to discuss the future of the Fosse Boys after being invited to do so by the club. I would expect them therfore to conduct any discussions at this meeting and then report back to this forum to those fellow fans who have been very supportive. The subsequent posting of an official comment is devisive trying to undermine their support as I said earlier. It's almost like letting someone by a ticket for a certain area and then just before the match moving them. I sincerely hope when the group arrive at the walkers on Fridy they are all allowed to be in the smae room and not have half of them moved to a meeting room at the other side of the stadium. Also please use your inteligence, you know the club would ask them not to persistantly stand, the compromise has to be in the definition of persistant taking into account the clubs need to be seen not to support anyone who intends to stand. I feel a compromise could be possible as long as it appears the club are not actively allowing a group to stand unchallenged.
Ultra Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 The club has never prevented the Fosse Boys from either singing, supporting the team, waving scarves, or displaying banners. In fact, the club is in support of new initiatives to help improve the matchday atmosphere. The re-recording of club anthem, 'When You're Smiling', close to the end of last season, is one example of how the club has tried to improve the atmosphere. Leicester City sees the Fosse Boys as a welcome addition towards the diverse mix of our supporter base, which will hopefully continue to help in creating an improved atmosphere at the Walkers Stadium. Sorry, but this statement completely contradicts the evidence I and others witnessed on Saturday, when stewards made it very clear that the Fosse Boys were NOT welcome. A decision was made (and I know who made it, as do others on here) to target, harass and victimise those fans wearing Fosse Boys T-shirts and/or scarves. It is significant that these were the only ones refused access to SK1. It is therefore not surprising that the Fosse Boys themselves, together with the overwhelming majority of posters on here, have concluded that the stewards are conducting a witch-hunt against them. 4 questions in particular need to be answered: 1) Why were the Fosse Boys denied the opportunity to occupy seats for which they had paid in advance, regardless of whether they may or may not have done so? 2) Why were they told (wrongly) that letters had been sent to them advising that the club were considering relocation/refusal of entry? 3) Will the club give an unconditional guarantee that anyone wearing Fosse Boys-branded clothing will NOT be subject to any further harassment or victimisation at the turnstiles at future home games? 4) Is anyone at the club going to go on record and issue an apology to the Fosse Boys? If you are not willing to respond to these questions then the Fosse Boys should look for someone who will, starting with the Chairman and/or the Chief Executive. This issue isn't going away. The FSF are already on the case and so (as tomorrow's Mercury will confirm) are Leicester City Council. You'd better look for a deal sooner rather than later.

Jodranadinho Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 If all does go well with the club on friday, would it be a good idea to get a roll call thing going for the match against cardiff. An increase in numbers would be a definite boost to our group of 30/40
Joe. Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 I'd look on the bright side of this boys, there's publicity everywhere now. Media outlets have all got involved, the FSF and now the council. You'll get there eventually, and all of this will have been good for the group.
davieG Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 I would insert the full statement and not be so selective. I would insert the full statement and not be so selective. They've been selective in their statement haven't they?

I feel a compromise could be possible as long as it appears the club are not actively allowing a group to stand unchallenged. I completely agree. But has the comprimise not already come by allowing fans in L1 to stand? I really just wanted clarification as I have a meeting scheduled with Mr Barclay and I wanted complete facts before going in. Hence me asking for someone who was actually at the meeting to clarify the point and not just have comments from people who have second hand information that may or may not be accurate. I apologise if I come accross as doubting anyone as I fully support the ethos of the Fosse Boys but I dont want to be pissing into the wind.
Ozwin Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 Probably a long shot but you should try and get in touch with an ex player or players and get their support.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 If this is genuine, it makes me sick. If the issue of standing (at the very back of a sparsely populated area) is genuinely more important to the club than the atmosphere, to the point where they insist on maintaining their stance despite the support shown to the Fosse Boys by a relatively large number of our support (i.e. quite a bit bigger than 22), I have to question my support for this club. This is so flimsy, it's barely worth the digital display it's written on. If the club are so hardline with the issue of standing, why allow it elsewhere? Why pursue a small group when they are bigger numbers standing elsewhere? The most ludicrous thing of all is that the Fosse Boys actually did sit down for periods of that Middlesbrough match, when stewards came and spoke to them. So what is the official line? You can stand if there is just one of you, or a handful spread out across the back row (as in the "Kop"), you can stand if there are 200-odd of you and we're a bit scared to do anything about it (L1), but if you're a bunch of well-meaning (mainly) young (mainly) lads trying to improve the atmosphere inside the stadium - who do not block anyone's view, who do not sing racist chants, who do not fight with anyone, who do not smoke, who are nowhere near opposition fans - then we'd rather you didn't turn up. After ten minutes, we might put you in another section of the stadium where you can stand. Which we've just refused you entry to the "Kop" to do, which is hypocritical to the point of insanity but, y'know, what are you going to do? Support another Leicester City FC? This whole thing makes me sick and it doesn't change a huge amount if this original post is not from an "LCFC official" after all. What a sorry state of affairs.

Ultra Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 Maybe needs some inverted commas around Official then This. If the poster is representing the club, then why has the statement not appeared on the OS, with a link posted here?
unreachable Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 They've been selective in their statement haven't they? I don't know. I wasn't a witness to the relevant events. I don't like journalists dissecting official statements since statements can then be taken out oif context.
Joe. Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 I don't know. I wasn't a witness to the relevant events. I don't like journalists dissecting official statements since statements can then be taken out oif context. Full statements never get published unless it's direct from the source. It's not a readable article then at all. Besides, what is there to take out of context from that quote?
Ultra Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 Probably a long shot but you should try and get in touch with an ex player or players and get their support. Good call. It may be useful for the Birch, for example, to meet with the Fosse Boys.

My sentiments exactly, people can talk all they like about the rights and wrongs of standing but it's clear to me, as I've said previously that the Fosse Boys were seen as soft target on which the club could flex it's muscles and 'be seen' to be doing something, it's the height of hypocrisy and cowardly. Unsurprisingly it's not the first time either because it mirrors the N Block scenario.
Ozwin Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 Good call. It may be useful for the Birch, for example, to meet with the Fosse Boys. Yeah I was gonna say the Birch but he probably wants to keep out of the clubs bad books after his whole saga this summer.
Babylon Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 Maybe someone like Steve Walsh? Half of them are in the clubs pockets and won't want to upset them.
bettso Posted 1 September 2010 Posted 1 September 2010 Can you reveal in what capacity you have a meeting with Mr Barclay Afraid not. I will make it clear though that I am not an employee of the club (anymore), dont have any inside info on the club and have no bias toward the club or the Fosse Boys. Basically i'm a fan of LCFC and I am disgusted at the alleged treatment of the Fosse Boys and other supporters so I have arranged the meeting to hear what the club has to say with my own ears.
