davieG Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 The only reason 442 worked under Pearson was because he played an extra defender Oakley (yes out of position) on the wing when ever he tried it with just two of Oakley/King/Wellens and two wingers it invariably failed.
ithuriel Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 Pearson changed things when it was not working, when we had our best run of the season we had waggy up front by himself, he'd hold the ball well and attack when the opportunity presented and it allowed gally et al to join in the attacks. Around that time was when we we're pummelling teams, now we have this dross with Howard leading the line
Liamlcfc1 Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 or......... ------------------------------DNG--------------------------- Forgot Dolce & Gabbana played for us
Kitchandro Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 As much as I think we might as well play 1-5-4 with the non-existant defence we've got, I also think 4-4-2 is the answer (in formation terms at least). Baring in mind this is not for the next game, just our best team. I'm well aware Morrison's confidence and form means he must be dropped for now, and Vitor is suspended. Weale Morrison fook knows - Tunchev when he comes back, Vitor and Moreno are the only current options Hobbs Berner Gallagher Wellens King Dyer Howard Waghorn This is pretty much the team that played last season after Fryatt got injured. It's not spectacular, but it's solid and effective. IF the players get their arse in gear, and by some miracle the defence gets 10 times better.
Ozwin Posted 26 September 2010 Posted 26 September 2010 fook me, the flying V sent me into a nostalgia spasm
