Sven: I won't get screwed again

Or he didn't fancy moving to the Middle East lol

I read Swedish papers online and he has often said he wants to be a premier league manager. I think he would have been happy to talk with Fulham, Liverpool and Aston Villa. He was mocked for saying he wanted Liverpool becasue he supported them growing up. But it was true. He wrote in a book that he contributed to aboiut 10 years ago that liverpool would be a dream come true for him.

Sven is as Leicester for the right reason and the fans dont need to worry about that. He will do everything possible to get you into premier League. I am sure he will achive it.

He actually sounds a decent bloke.

I like him.

I think the media paint a picture of him that isnt realistic. When people learn about Sven they realise that he isnt this money grabbing, greedy manager he is labled to be. Since leaving England he has always said that he wants us to win and he said he wanted us to win the World Cup. He was gutted to go out and he was spot kicks from a World Cup semi final in 2006

He's here until he can get something bigger and better...or until MM sacks him...

You see this is the media talking. He isnt like that. The media paint him that way but facts are that he will stay. He wanted to stay at Man City, Notts County, and Mexico. He will stay with you lot, im sure of that.

Promotion will happen - Eriksson

New Leicester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson says the ambition shown by the club's Thai owners to play in the Premier League convinced him to join.

Eriksson was confirmed as boss of the Championship's basement club on Sunday.

And the Swede, 62, is certain the Foxes have the infrastructure and financial clout to reach the top flight.

"How quick it will happen is difficult to say because we are starting in a not perfect position - but it will happen," Eriksson told BBC East Midlands Today.

Former England boss Eriksson had his fingers burned when the promised financial backing failed to materialise while he was director of football during a much-publicised spell at Notts County.

He is no doubt that this time around his stay in the East Midlands will not only last longer than his but will also bring promotion to the Premier League.

"It is real," Eriksson said. "They are real people behind the club who want to play in the Premier League as soon as possible.

"I met the owners and they explained what they wanted to do. I knew the stadium and the training ground so the facilities are fantastic and the stadium is beautiful.

"If the owners have these ambitions then I am interested and I want to be a part of it.

"I hope it's not the same as it was at Notts County because after six months there was no substance behind the club and that's why I left.

"There will be money available in January if we need that, no doubt about that. I don't want - for the next two or three years - to be a manager in the Championship.

"This is a new challenge and a big challenge. I'm happy to sign for a club with big ambitions and that's why I'm here. Let's see what is going to happen."
