MrSpaM Posted 27 October 2010 Author Posted 27 October 2010 Is Michael Owen out our reach???????? Now that would be MASSIVE!!! It's a good shout, i've said this since Sousa took over, the amount of times he's been injured in the past year is a little worrying though. Update : Looks like he got injured in training yesterday as well, out for two weeks at least
muzzy1981 Posted 27 October 2010 Posted 27 October 2010 I wonder if Vassel will get a look in on the wing instead of Gally, apparentely he used to play there. Got a feeling when Vassel gets match fit he's gonna be ace!

Got a feeling when Vassel gets match fit he's gonna be ace! One thing that's for sure is that he has deadly pace. Something which we don't have up front since we got rid of Campbell. Any deadly strike force needs a pacy forward to cut holes in the oppositions defence.

Thracian Posted 27 October 2010 Posted 27 October 2010 Whilst changes have to be made, we're going about this the wrong way and I'm concerned for us until the window opens now. Our current league position isn't good, and the current underperforming players now know their future is uncertain. We have one threat from midfield, and a Japanese guy that seems to have to play out of position and no strikers able to score. If we're not in the relegation zone come 1st January it will be a huge acheivement! Spot on. Despite Sven's pedigree It is all beginning to remind me of when Holloway joined Leicester in our relegation season. I went over to watch us play Forest reserves in Nottingham and it was an embarrassment. No-one seemed to give a shit. We'd got all these indifferent foreigners signed up and Holloway had made it clear he had no confidence in the players he had and that he'd be trying to replace a good many of them in January. Cue more lousy performances from guys who thought they'd be replaced whatever. I know we've money to burn now but I'm still concerned that too many players will see no point in busting a gut when they're going to be out anyway and I also wonder if the really good potential signings will not look at our league placing and say "we can do without getting involved in that". I've warned before that having too many players around who are detached from the match action is awful for the spirit within a club and without that spirit you get cave-ins like against West Brom last night where no-one cares enough to fight. What we fast need is to find out our strongest starting X1, to decide on the most effective substitutes and basically stick to that and to a pattern of play that suits those players. But will it happen and will it be enough to prevent more poor results when everyone knows there will be yet another upheaval in January and another gravy train of signings? Another factor is the loan signings. One or two can strengthen identified weaknesses but a lot of loanees can, again, prove dispiriting to the contract players and therefore bad for morale. Pearson didn't have a surplus of players nor did he make endless changes. And that was one of the keys to his modest success.
body102 Posted 1 January 2011 Posted 1 January 2011 Stringer just said on radio leicester when someone mentioned Michael Owen ' WHY NOT ' , now a few weeks ago he was saying basically it will never happen . why has he changed his tune , does he know something .

Saw him warming up when Rooney got injured... no chance will Fergie let him go he's still got a part to play for Utd this season, even if its a small part unless of course Owen instigates it, but he'd need to be tapped up for that to happen
Sk4 Posted 2 January 2011 Posted 2 January 2011 Personally don't think any big name signings will materialise I hope I m proved wrong
