How long are you willing to give Levein..

Shocking performances with good results would suit me fine.

Yeah but for how long? I personally hate us playing shit even if we win - im thinking im on my own here but I find it very frustrating.

Personally I don't think there's anything better than going away from home, being out-played by the opposition and then grabbing a late goal to win 1-0. Results are what's important and I could easily sit through a season of hoof ball if the final result was promotion. Nothing worse than watching a team pass the ball about perfectly but not putting the ball in the back of the net. That's just frustrating.

We saw this under Taylor, top of the premier and yet playing complete poo. Eventually you get found out, you can only win so many matches without playing well. Obviously, the best teams are the ones that still win when they are playing crap, but they have to at least play well some of the time.

I would start wanting him out if we were bottom half next season. If we were top half, then I would give him at least another season to show improvement. If we do, then give him a new contract

Would'nt we all    :ermm:

Exactly. That's why it's rediculous saying we'll 'give him' the season.

I'd give him till about christmas, providing we're not in relegation trouble then and the performances are promising then he can stay, don't want us turning into Southampton and sacking managers left, right and centre. Christmas, or early December as being sacked at Christmas would be terrible, would mean he's been in charge for over a year and has had time to get his team right. It also gives a new manager time to assess the squad and then use the January transfer window to strengthen or selll players.

Obviously if we have no points after a while then he can go, but i can safely say that we'll have points on the board soon enough.

It's all very well saying 'I'm giving him this long' or 'I'm prepared to give him that long', but how do any of you know how you'll be feeling 10 games into the season, or at Christmas, or whenever?

Until I've seen a ball kicked in a competitive match, I'd like to reserve judgement.

It depends on a lot of things,

If we play excelent football and lose, I think most fans will be more tolerant and I will contue to give him 100% support, irrelevent of how long it takes for him to get us promoted.

If CL losses the plot in the same way MA did and we end up playing bad football and losing a lot of games, and relegation looks likely, the fans will very quickly start to express their frustration, my self included.

But after so many draws last season, I cant see us doing badly, so its a pointless question, with very pointless answers.

What's the point in winning promotion only to get relegated the next season because all the team know is how to hoof. The aim should always be to develop a team and style of play that can gain promotion and stay in the Premiership.

There is twenty million reasons why the club should aim for promotion even if it means relegation the season after.

Hint: The reasons are £. which is what is needed if a decent team is to be developed

I'm not going to be rash whatever amount of time I give him. Anyway I am confident this won't be an issue as Levein is the right man for the job and he can have all the time in the world at Leicester.

As Lisa says we should reserve judgement, it would be highly unfair to completely judge Levein on what's happened this season. Although he hasn't worked miracles, he's come in and stamped his authority and changes are being made. This league we are in is horrible and who knows what will happen. I might have low expectations for next season, but we will still have one of the biggest wage budgets for next season and we could be in the mix for promotion.

To be perfectly scathingly honest. Who the f*** are you all to say how long you are going to give the manager. You are fans of the club, you don't run it. Nor do you have the option to hire or sack any manager. This thread is everything about this club that I hate. Instead of looking for ways to screw things up and promote instability at the club, why don't you try something radical and support!

I find it funny that some people are saying, 'I'll give him 10 games'! What are you going to do when ten games have gone by then?!? Because last time I checked the decisions on who stays and who goes aren't the kind of decisions you'll have to make in this lifetime!

We need stability and a period of re-building to be successful at this club! Changing the manager every ten weeks is not going to get us anywhere.

Chandler was right, some of you are f****** thick!

Calm down!!! You can look at this rationally and irationally, which you've obviously done with the latter. There is no question that the fans are behind Levein, if they weren't then there is no way that there wouldn't have been an uproar when we slipped down to 19th in the league at one point. This thread has been created no doubt in retrospect to what Chandler always harps on about.

I know myself that this club needs stability and we need to re-build, this takes time. You'll find 90% of the fans on here will agree with that and that's why they aren't expecting promotion next season. Improvement is what we want to see, Rome wasn't built in a day. But also if things don't pan out and things get worse what do the fans do? You will always get fans showing frustration if we find ourselves well down the league. It is a case of re-building and that can take time, but you have to be careful in buying in to this revolution when it might never happen.

I fully believe in Levein, this won't be an issue of time. But I think this thread was created as a what if, considering we might well find ourselves not winning many games next season. It will take a brave man to take this club forward as it's been ran badly for a fair few years, hats off to him for having a long term plan. The fans are behind him, I think you must be on a come down or something, chill out bruv.

Couldn't agree with this more. This club needs to build for the future and leadership with vision during this time and to be discussing deadlines in this way is crazy.

It seems a trite point to make because it's often cited but Alex Ferguson was one game away from being sacked at Man U when he started there. Don't forget the disenchantment with O'Neill after the Sheffield game when he was first here.

If the right man is in charge, and I believe he his, give him time. As long as things are moving in the right direction, and they are, let him get on with it.

I think the question is a fair one but assumes a number of things. Rephrased it is basically asking how long should we give Levein to get us promoted or be in a position to get promoted before we start to get impatient?

However, it is absurd of some people to give the man ten games into next season -this is a long term rebuilding job for a club that almost ceased to exist a couple of seasons ago.

Personally, I'm very excited about what I've seen so far from Levein - we're playing the best football I've seen by a Leicester team in years, he is, so far, very shrewed in the transfer market (Hughes, McCarthy and Maybury are revelations) and he is undoubtedly passionate about giving the fans what they want.
