iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 31 October 2010 Posted 31 October 2010 Derby give 10000 tickets out for cheap to local businesses and schools. That is why.
Jackirius Posted 31 October 2010 Posted 31 October 2010 I would probably go to every other home game if i could get a free (or free with a purchase) season ticket.
Rich Fox Posted 31 October 2010 Posted 31 October 2010 Just read through the posts and I knew before that Leicester and Derby had similar sized fan bases but why oh why do we have so many negative down trodden fans? People who are supposed to be LCFC saying Derby are a bigger club mate before looking at the facts. The crowds are down all over the country because we are in the worst recession since WW2 and there is massive job cuts on the way. However our prices on match days and season ticket prices are to high at the walkers.
Syko Posted 31 October 2010 Posted 31 October 2010 As a Student who was a Season ticket holder, and living in Derby, It seems to me purely price of season tickets for the about the price of a 12 year olds season ticket at Leicester, I could (but won't) get a student season ticket at Derby if Leicester were to offer similar deals at a similar level I'd be down at the walkers every other week, as it is I can only afford once in a blue moon because of the price of tickets! Plus Derby sell something like 20,000 season tickets, which is probably to do with prices!
leicesterseddon Posted 31 October 2010 Posted 31 October 2010 As others have said, the decline we've seen in attendances at Leicester is in line with a more general decline throughout the country. As Clinton would have said, it's the economy, stupid.
McFoxy Posted 1 November 2010 Posted 1 November 2010 Overpriced tickets. Poor atmosphere. Fans treated like shit. Popular manager shifted on for a 'Hollywood' appointment. Poor start to the season. Not difficult to work out really. This!
foxaholic Posted 1 November 2010 Posted 1 November 2010 That argument is full of shite I'm afraid. I mean lets not kid ourselves - the prices have gone up, so obviously there'll be a decline, at least some decline anyway. Also, some of the figures are massively wrong - well this isn't a figure, but Middlesbrough was actually our 2nd game this year as opposed to Swansea and MK, which were both openers in a new division. Also, Swansea brought a good 3,200 as opposed to the 1,300 each MK and Boro both took. And Derby - they are a bigger club it's fact, but in our defence, we have to compete with the Tigers, Forest have to compete with Notts County, Derby have basically no competition at all. Lets face it ours gates are usually in the top 4 Coventry having their best season for ages are down to 14000. Unlike most areas people actually watch rugby as well and although they dont clash cost is still a major factor where prices are low Norwich and Bradford city gates are well over expectation
body102 Posted 1 November 2010 Posted 1 November 2010 I think some of the games if not all are overpriced , luckily I am a season ticket holder who bought at the early bird price so works out at 14 quid a game , my lads worked out at under a quid a game . Also I pay by direct debit so I pay around 30 quid a month , whereas if i didn't and there are three home games in a month it would actually cost me around 80 quid or more . So I can see where some fans are coming from as it is a lot of money to find each month if more than one home game.
Kitchandro Posted 1 November 2010 Posted 1 November 2010 Overpriced tickets. Poor atmosphere. Fans treated like shit. Popular manager shifted on for a 'Hollywood' appointment. Poor start to the season. Not difficult to work out really. Absolutely spot on. The ticket prices alone would be enough to put off some people (Boro a platinum fixture???!!!) but I can say I feel as if the fans have been treated like shit by the club - it's the Fosse boys thing, it's not telling us about Pearson's departure, etc. Mandaric is such a bastard
