Benjaldinho Posted 3 December 2010 Posted 3 December 2010 Just read that he wants a move to italian side Genoa. I reckon we have a bigger rep and could use him tbh just wondered what everyone thought of him heres the story http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/transfer-rumours/3308/4/tottenham-flop-giovani-dos-santos-eyes-italy-move
StanSP Posted 3 December 2010 Posted 3 December 2010 I don't think we have a bigger rep than Genoa. Our manager probably has a bigger rep than theirs, but as a club I'm not so sure. He's a good player, and I wouldn't say no to this, but I feel he's probably had enough of England after failing at Spurs and ending up at Ipswich!

Agreed, although if we tried to sign Robbie didley dee Keane it shows that we have the ambition to bring players with big(ish) reputations to the club.

Definitely. Having Sven and Derek here has definitely brought some ambition back to the club given the players we've been linked with. It might be good to test the waters with Dos Santos, but I can't imagine him coming here.
a_k_b Posted 3 December 2010 Posted 3 December 2010 Did Sven work with him with mexico? That may help us. If i remembe right he did well at ipswich!!!
themotivator Posted 3 December 2010 Posted 3 December 2010 in talks with genoa. interest from fiorentina and lazio. not sure we stand much of a chance. although, we do have a ridiculous footballing institution as our manager. :sge: :sge: :sge: :sge: :sge: :sge: :sge: :sge: :sge: :sge: :sge: :sge: :sge: (edit. all those heads in a row look amazing)
themotivator Posted 3 December 2010 Posted 3 December 2010 even taking into account the apparent inferiority of the Italian league compared to english football, we would still need to be safely in the top flight to be considered "big". we are viewed as a club with ambition, which many have stated in the press, and this can count in our favour when trying to sign players of a certain quality. i don't think dos santos would do well to fanny about on loan in the championship for much longer though.
Haydos Posted 3 December 2010 Posted 3 December 2010 Bigger than Genoa.... Luca Toni, Domenico Criscito, Rodrigo Palacio, Rafinha, Mattia Destro, Miguel Veloso, Bosko Jankovic to name a few. Stop. Being. Stupid. I'm sure sven quashed this rumour a while back. Would be very happy to see it happen but won't get my hopes up.
