Ian Stringer - Oh Dear

We suffered from the same with a ref against Atletico Madrid, dont see us banging on about being the champions of europe

;) Because you can't come up with a tongue in cheek chant with such a catchy tune.

He's not a bad commentator at all. I've had to listen to other teams commentary recently and some of them have been shocking. Think some people have forgotten John Barber far too quickly.

Imho the issue i have with Stringer is that he gets far more excited about what the opposing team do than what we are doing, then spends half the time talking about completely random stuff, so much so that you never really get an idea of what is happening in the game.

He'll be talking about something completely inane then suddenly shout 'Oh and that's in.............oh no it's not' and you won't even know what's happened in the build up.

Anyway let's get back to discussing crisp packets blowing around the pitch and what i'm having for tea.......

Yes he is better than Barber but that isn't too difficult.

I do like Stringer because he's passionate about city and actually gives us a decent commentary on the game. If anyone listened to the Swansea stream on Swansea Sound i think, of our game earlier in the season then you'll understand that we are lucky to have Stringer. Alan Young also compliments him very well especially when Stringer gets a bit overexcited then Youngy is the first one to calm him down and speak sense. To be honest I think people are just complaining about him for mo reason. I mean John Sinclair was bloody awful but he never got half as many threads about him as Stringer does!

Maybe I just love Stringer..

For years we've had bland career BBC reporters only interested in working their way up the ladder

Stringer may not be the best in the world - but he is a fan and after listening to BBC Hull (or whatever it was called) and I much prefer a fan like Stringer to a career journo
