Fmfox Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 I like him, he can crack a joke and commentate at the same time, but he is pretty biased i gotta admit - when Leeds scored their second he just said "its gone in". I dunno about you but I thought it was a good goal.
The Doctor Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 don't paticularly like the bloke but he is better than barber.
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 For me it was "over the top" when he went rambling on about the length of Sven's coat.... i noticed it was quite long... and a burrda lcfc one :sge:
EnglishOxide Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 And where did you sit? In the west stand? I was at the South stand for the first half, and then in front of the away fans in the second half.
Ross 'LCFC' Turner Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 leeds were the best fans that have been to the walkers this season in my opinion, they were loud for pretty much all the game and when they were all on their feet singing waving their scarves i admit, it was a good sight and you have to give leeds credit for thier away support as much as i hate saying it. just because iain stringer works for bbc radio leicester doesent mean he has to be bias towards us and im pretty sure it doesent say in his contract that he cant credit teams when credit is deserved , so stop being so picky maybe if you went to the game you might of agreed?
Guest Mee-9 Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 In Ian Stringer related news. RT @DaveMee77: @IanStringerBBC Lacking Clinical Finishing - what a response, many thanks. My favourite. Thank you very much. Now start following me
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 I though the Leeds fans were on good form today, much louder than us for most of the match [dont know where you were sitting but i couldnt hear them for most of the match and not at all when CITY came back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2. Leicester's support is brilliant when we get going but naturally like any club we are going to be quieter when 2-0 down and not playing very well. Come on City ]
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 Wether Leeds or CITY fans were loud or not depends on where you sit and what the score is at the time quite obviously!!! One thing than can defo be said is LEICESTER fans were very loud from 1-2 to 2-2 etc

Come on City I was in B3 pretty much opposite end of the ground to them. Obviously as no one in the west stand makes any noise i could only hear noise from the rest of the ground and Leeds were all I could hear most of the game until we scored really. Got quite animated in B3 after that, even some semi persistent standing and glares from the stewards, by west stand standards practically a riot.
Shrenchel Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 Compared to our 'support' they were one of the 7 wonders of the modern world, don't see why Stringer shouldn't point it out. It was fvking embarrassing how they outsung us.
blueharmie Posted 26 December 2010 Posted 26 December 2010 people maoning at stringer? just imagine peter beagrie and andy grey! I think he does a top job, i remember barber and that manesh passeeeeeeen or whoever he was called he was an absolute joke. IAN STRINGERS BLUE AND WHITE ARMY!!
Rich_Sheffield Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Listen to other teams local commentary and you'd think different. I'm glad we've at least got a passionate City fan who gets football and cares a great deal about this club. agreed
Rich_Sheffield Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 For me it was "over the top" when he went rambling on about the length of Sven's coat.... talking about the length of this coat is over the top? bugger me! some people will moan at anything!
Cheese Me Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 He is better than John Barber a million times over. Has his faults but it is local radio to be fair. Well said, I like Stringer and he's by far the best we've had in my 20 or so years of listening
lcfcsnow Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 He was fine yesterday, until the interview with King. I was embarrassed for him when he asked about the Liverpool rumour someone made up and text in about. Does he not do any research?
crisp monster Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 I sat in the kop and I thought the Leeds fans did look good - well,a lot better than what our lot were comin out with. What I thought was really shocking was the disrespectfull chanting at gradel - I don't remember him slagging off the club or moaning about being loaned out, he just got on with his career after what must have been a very difficult time at home - he didn't even celebrate his goal! It wood be nice if ex players who conduct themselves properly got a decent welcome when they return. Sometimes some our our 'fans' are a total embarasment
markbsac Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 i like stringer i have met him hes a decent lad passionate about the city........but even i raised an eyebrow to him bumming the leeds fans !!!.....but when king scored he made up for it he about cacked his pants...
Simmo86 Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 I didnt think Leeds were as good as they usually are yesterday, normally they dont shut up but yesterday it was more sporadic and they've ruined WACCOE by being sucked in to this sing everything at 100 mph bullshit! L1 was embarrasing yesterday, so many clueless deadheads in there now! Like a fooking creche!

Like a fooking creche! whats WACCOE ? i sit in N block and they were indeed very quiet compared to previous visits....maybe like the rest of us they were freezing..and just concentrating on trying to keep warm.

When they all wave there scarves round there heads and sing 'we are the champions, champions of europe' (deluded). It used to sound good, now it just sounds like 3000 arseholes with speech impediments!

And some people actually clap when they do it, totally ruins it Nice and slow, with either half singing each line. Much better. There was a good one against QPR that's on youtube, about 25,000 at it that time (And we were robbed of our right to defend a trophy that was legitimately ours )

MOT Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Refereeing decisions even themselves out over the course of the season Not when said official has been bribed and is subsequently banned from football
Simmo86 Posted 27 December 2010 Posted 27 December 2010 Not when said official has been bribed and is subsequently banned from football We suffered from the same with a ref against Atletico Madrid, dont see us banging on about being the champions of europe
