nandojolob Posted 2 January 2011 Posted 2 January 2011 The best price you can get with the bookies for us to get promoted is 8 - 1. These are tight odds considering our position / points tally. I'm not bothered though as I lumped on us at 22 - 1 as soon as Sven was appointed !! I genuinely believe we'll make the play offs THIS year. We need that run of consecutive wins to get us going. Whether we win them or not is another matter. Happy New Year to you all. Come on you Foxes !!!!!
Flynny Posted 2 January 2011 Posted 2 January 2011 It's do-able, we just need to string some wins together. 40ish points is 12-13 wins and a few draws. 13 from 21 sounds quite a lot, but string 4 together and it's suddenly 8 from 17 and looks very do-able. I've almost given up on this season anyway. We have a very good manager at the side and it might be better he doesn't have the pressure this season so that he has time to build. Turning over the whole squad for a run at promotion this season will only be more damaging if it fails and might not even do any good this season either. Also, am I right in thinking that the form since Eriksson took over is just about play-off form? If so we've got even less reason to worry about next season assuming we'll improve under him.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 2 January 2011 Posted 2 January 2011 Sven will get us promoted this season or the next. Hes a great manager and if we get promoted, imagine the calibre of players he'll be bringing in.

Also, am I right in thinking that the form since Eriksson took over is just about play-off form? Agree totally with the 1st point... As a huge chunk of signings are on temporary loan deals it means we're turning over our squad now, if we don't make it which is unlikely at just over 2pts/game then they'll all leave and we'll have to turn the squad over in the summer as well, much better building for next season now & if it happens this year it happens. If we have to turn the whole squad over in the summer it means we'll be less likely to be top2 next year (don't want to rely on the luck of the playoffs) And your 2nd paragraph... I don't have the maths as i'm on my phone in bed but Sven has averaged just under 1.5pts/game & he needs to avg just over 2pts for 6th... With a 1 in 4 chance of making it through the playoffs I say build for next season now & if the miracle happens, we'll still be better placed to take advantage as the players will all be ours & we won't need to turn over the whole squad yet again
themotivator Posted 3 January 2011 Posted 3 January 2011 it'd be a long shot if we got promotion this season, but stranger things have happened. who can tell? the safe bet would be for a solid top half finish to set us up nicely for a real shot at it next season. i still hold on to the hope that we could sneak it though. like the sneaky sneaks of the century. we are fooking sick after all
