dog_4 Posted 29 May 2005 Posted 29 May 2005 so far city havent been linked with very good players. but on the bright side our first 11 is starting to look strong. I think douglas looks pretty good just concerned by the very under rated kisnorbo and momo sylla. I do feel steffan moore and jamal campbell-ryce wud be a good couple of additions.

Stefan Moore's a striker with not many goals to his name, granted he's not had many chances at City but I can't see his future being here.
Bedford Fox Posted 30 May 2005 Posted 30 May 2005 Levein will go for players he think will do the job and we have to trust his judgement! Some of the player MON brought were not highly rated but they did well!!!
EmLeee Posted 30 May 2005 Posted 30 May 2005 i think CL signings so far have been great...apart from De Vries maybe ... but i'm sure he'll do fine next season

step Posted 31 May 2005 Posted 31 May 2005 I agree, and I believe that the manager will have a better idea of what players are best for the club rather than the fans. I just hope he real, ises we need a striker
fosseman Posted 31 May 2005 Posted 31 May 2005 He tried to get Jani Sturm so CL's aware of the striking problem. I hope he finds someone good soon though.
BartonFox Posted 31 May 2005 Posted 31 May 2005 Who do you want us to be linked with? Joe Cole, Scott Parker? How about Steven Gerrard? We are in a pretty bad financial state and that will be reflected in the kind of player we can attract. That'll be a lower division player no one except Hoof will have heard of ( ) and in a few years they'll be sold for millions, hopefully. If they bring us a bit of excitment and a flirtation with the PL then great, I'd rather have them than those who were once a name.
Leicesterboi Posted 31 May 2005 Posted 31 May 2005 Give De Vries time he may turn out to be a revalation. Especially given his desire to succeed shown by training early. But granted we do need another striker to bolster our strike force. They say every good team has four good strikers.

CL seems to be building for the future rather than showing the short-termism of the recent past which left us with no money despite 6 or 7 seasons in the prem, no saleable assets in the form of players fit to play in the prem (those we had left on frees) and even lost our ground! I don't see us getting automatic promotion next season simply because the likes of Norwich and Palace have managed relegation better than us and learned from our mistakes but if we get say 4 or 5 rising stars who genuinely want to play for the club then our future will be bright and we might gate crash the party via the playoffs

bluearmy Posted 2 June 2005 Posted 2 June 2005 With the poor financial state the club's in at the moment I think we're just going to have to be patient with the bunch of cheap randoms that are probably coming in over the summer, and make judgment when we see them on the pitch next season. I'm sure CL knows what he's doing!
