MC Prussian Posted 31 March 2011 Posted 31 March 2011 Alright, thought I'd start a different topic that might just as well expand over the months to come. I guess everybody could use a little travel advice, so I'd like to ask the Northeast experts, what I could do in Newcastle for a day or two. Good food joints, advice for a night out, etc. (And yes, I've already been told to stay clear of Wallsend)
AoWW Posted 31 March 2011 Posted 31 March 2011 I'd be surprised if it's your thing, tbh, but you might surprise me! But Seven Stories is a fantastic gallery / museum / archive-type-place celebrating children's books. More fun if you can borrow a child for the day, unless you can pretend to be a child (!) in which case it's lots of fun. Housed in an amazingly-weird building with a great cafe.
rico Posted 31 March 2011 Posted 31 March 2011 Osbourne Road in Jesmond has some very nice bars and ladies
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 31 March 2011 Posted 31 March 2011 Slap a Geordie 'cause they all think they're god's gift.
MC Prussian Posted 31 March 2011 Author Posted 31 March 2011 Osbourne Road in Jesmond has some very nice bars and ladies That's where I'll be staying. Heard Jesmond's full of students, too. Other alleged no-go zones are Benwell and Scotswood, so I've heard.
StanSP Posted 31 March 2011 Posted 31 March 2011 When you're all done suggesting places for Newcastle, let's have some ideas for Lisbon please
